SLAMMER
OK BITCHES, the day has come, there seems to be no more rain so let's go have some fun!!! Be safe out there!! SLAMMER
SLAMMER
The rain wasn't a factor at all. The event ran very smooth. Wait times were no more than 5 minutes between runs. Runway surface was very nice. Tarmac and off shoots returns were all new asphalt. All in all a very good day with the fastest car getting to 207 mph in the1/2 mile trap. Unreal
Only came back here because Dawg asked so nicely. Awesome day. Couldn't have been better. Was a bit damp and traction limited early, and less so later on. Even on my limp mode 1/2 ass setup drove out there, made 8-9 passes, had a blast, and drove home. Lots of vettes, and lots of nice nice cars. Video from back of car vs 1000+hp huge turbo camaro. Was a fun race.
Desertdawg
Welcome back Nick, nice seeing ha today... I had a blast representing the slow class I walked up to Joe Cordes and asked "ok, how much does horsepower cost again?" Lots of nice stuff there today. SLAMMER
And yes, Donna was faster than me, but just barely... (Tim showed her how to shift faster) :angrymadstomping: smilie She had a best time slip of 141 MPH. She was kind enough to let me take a few passes. (automatic with paddle shifter) is what I drive. So new car with Manuel transmission and by the fourth pass I bested her MPH by 1 mph She hopped back in (with out me) and posted a 147 mph. Picking up 6 MPH from her days best. I guess she learns quickly! Good job Donna!! SLAMMER
Unreal
Fought traction/etc all day, but did 177.6mph. Not bad, had it turned down. If they do another soon I think solid 180s is very doable. I have ~300rwhp on tap if needed.
Ted Y
Good to see you here, Nick. Question, how did the Bugatti's do?
NRS
It was a great time, with some very fast cars. Lots of people giving rides. The vette was working well, but now I have to spend more money, because I NEED to go faster I'll be out Sunday with my road race car (Viper). Look for the Cordes Performance tent if you want to get a ride.
Unreal
Bugatti did fine. Rock solid, stable and just fast. The TT lambos/etc did beat them, but who cares. I found it funny that the TT lambo guy was making fun of the bugatti guy after beating him. Pretty sure the bugatti owner can go drop $300k on a TT lambo if he wants to add one to his collection. Hopefully they do another one before it gets hot. My few issues should be simple to fix then I hope to do well into the 180s.

dale68z
How much confidence do you have in a car when you have to bring THE WHOLE Rollaway box to the track?? But, it is a tiny tool box, and is the perfect height to hold your favorite beverage while acting like you know how to use the tools in the box. Unreal
Actually that was for the whole evolution motor sports group. They brought 5-6 cars including the 1500awhp porsche that was the fastest car of the day. They were tweaking on that car all day so the tools came in handy. The McClarens ran 20+ times no issues, along with the 458, 911s and all the other exotics they brought. More videos
Dvl4evr
I walked up to Joe Cordes and asked "ok, how much does horsepower cost again?" Lots That's exactly how I felt when I left. How much $ needs to be thrown @ a car to make big HP. I can see why this type of event is getting so popular. Good to see some peeps I haven't seen in a along time & meet some super nice new peeps! ZZZ0006
We had a great time at the event, lot's of fast cars and the day was a blast. My 2008 Z06 is bone stock except a cold air intake, I ran a best of 150.70 down the 1/2 mile. Here are a couple pics my wife took, unfortunately she had a hard time taking pictures of my father in law and I flying by down at the end of the track. Post times and did you run 1/2 mile or one mile, how fast were you rolling before tromping on it? I hope I can make the next one. Did you run side by side like the drag strip? Who had the best time with a C6 auto or stick? Thx No times are recorded, just MPH. The roll speed varies a bit, I think my average was around 30 to 40 before crossing the cones to nail it, it is a 1/2 mile race and you run side by side with whoever you want to or who you happen to be next to in line. Desertdawg
How much confidence do you have in a car when you have to bring THE WHOLE Rollaway box to the track?? That 800 written on the window was crank HP, mine had 460 on it... My best was 142.49 launched from behind the cones (which added about 25 yards to the run) My average runs from 40 or less at the cones was 139's... I felt like a small fish in a really big pond out there
