Wait until Dwayne see's this.

I just did....

I guess I can limit my runs to a halt mile for this event...

BTW, first I've heard anything about this...

Nope......where else can you legally run WOT for half a mile around here ? Freeway roll racing seems to be the more popular racing over 1/4 drag racing, so this should be perfect for that type.

Oh SHITSKI! Only coupes can run I'm guessing. Unless one has a broad definition of roll over protection being the A piller of the C6 VERT.

I did send off an email to Tony asking for definition of FACTORY ROLL OVER PROTECTION.

My interpretation is run w/ top up.

I agree with you on this Jim! At many drag strips I have had to have the top and widows up!

Proautosports is now much more lenient about not requiring you to have the top up any more.

But each promoter has their own rules governed by their insurance coverages I'm guessing.

Ok! I just heard back from Tony re: roll over protection.

His response;

Hey Tim... how goes it?! Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delayed

response. Busy time...

Anyway, I have tried to make myself familiar with vehicles such as the

vette, for our industry. I am aware that the pillars and windshield supports

meet/exceed the federal crush standards, even tho the Verts are not even

required to be tested. Our rules regarding this are basically at my

discretion, as insurance is ok with it. It is easier for me to make a rule

as stated on the website about verts, and make exceptions from there. I take

most verts on a case by case.

Generally, if you have a ton of power, and no roll bar/hoop, then likely,

you will not be permitted. A 900hp open top is not something I want to see

upside down at 180mph. However, stock or slightly modified vehicles that

meet certain federal regulations such as the Vette, I would allow.

Ultimately tho, the driver must decide if he is willing to run the vehicle.

Tracks dont make you sign all those waivers for nothing!

So if you feel you are in the above guidelines, and are on SUFFICIENT tires,

you will be fine. The biggest concern, in a straight line speed scenario,

just may be tires. Make sure they are plentiful in tread, no bubbles etc.

You know the drill if you have road raced.

Hope that covered it, feel free to reach out again with anything else.

Woohoo,

Looks like I can play:

Response from Tony:

Do you happen to be in a group with a Tim Accomazzo? Weird, I got nearly identical questions about Vette verts from you both

670hp would be under the radar for my concerns, since that would likely put you about the 160-165 mph range I believe. (generally, not exact science). I would be comfortable with you running. Top and windows up/closed.

You have plenty enough tire for my liking. As long as they are nice and even. Also, what is your suspension setup including any swaybars or similar.

Well, finally a place to try my Vert. How many runs can you expect to get in, in a day?

Limited to 100 cars. Tony said they run a pair of cars every 45 seconds or so

Registration doesn't go live until October 18th, but I'm planning on running Saturday only, at this time.
