Desertdawg
Looking at the graph I know I don't want to stimulate my insulin. I already have enough fat formations.... I'm still going to be counting carbs because to me it's easier to limit, I can still eat a burger but with half the bun or enjoy a couple of tacos but no rice or beans... Sure it's not the healthiest way but I can stick with it better than eating grains and tofu.
Marco
Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true? A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it... Don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it like saying you extend life of car by driving faster. Want to live longer? Take nap. Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake? A: Oh no. Wine made from fruit. Brandy distilled wine, that mean they take water out of fruity bit so you get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made of grain. Bottom up! Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio? A: Well, if you have body and you have fat, your ratio one to one. If you have two body, your ratio two to one. Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program? A: Can't think of single one, sorry. My philosophy: No pain...good! Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you? A: YOU NOT LISTENING! Food fried in vegetable oil. How getting more vegetable be bad? Q : Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle? A: Oh no! When you exercise muscle, it get bigger. You should only be doing sit-up if you want bigger stomach. Q: Is chocolate bad for me? A: You crazy?!? HEL-LO-O!! Cocoa bean! Another vegetable! It best feel-good food around! Q: Is swimming good for your figure? A: If swimming good for figure, explain whale to me. Q: Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle? A: Hey! 'Round' is shape! Well... I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. And remember: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!" AND..... For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies. 1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans... 5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

Cut down a little and cut down on some of the sweets and any late evening snacks mostly. Otherwise it's just daily activity to work on those trouble areas. Z06_Mir
Stop drinking soda if you're trying to lose weight. At 1200 calories a day (what I aim to eat as well) there is NO room for empty calories. Although I'm sure you know that. And diet soda, although no calories accompany it the sugar-like tastes and carbonation make you crave sugary and fatty foods.. and it provides zero nutritional value. I probably had a 300 calorie breakfast today so I've still got about 900 calories left for the day, woohoo! I think I'd be doing a lot better if I'd stop drinking though. Stupid empty calories. Shifty
I do drink teh diet soda, but only because I need to wet my whistle too often (I work in a phone room-wholesale parts, and I talk endlessly). I do drink a ton of water, plain sun tea, and coffee with fat-free creamer and teh sweet-n-low (I need teh brain damage). I've tried teh whole chewing-gum routine, but it just doesn't last. I've ditched teh soda/tea/coffee (cafienne) before, and after teh headache fades, I just couldn't make it through teh day with my heart meds putting me to sleep-I was sleeping on teh job, and not just a little bit, I was zonked! Desertdawg
I drank a coke zero or a sprite zero (U gotta try one) a day, 12 or 16 oz. The rest of teh day it's water or unsweetened tea. I do try to drink a glass of cranberry for kidney health once a week during teh summer, try teh cran-pomegranite. nom nom nom!

Take a close look at most cran-berry juices...they are mostly grape juice with lots of sugar. Real, straight cranberry juice tastes like battery acid, and is pretty expensive. Soda, fast food (with the exception of subway) and candy were the first things that went out the window when I started my diet. For breakfast I have a greek yogurt (160 calories) , lunch usually runs me 3-400 calories depending on what I decided to eat and the rest is for dinner / healthy snacks through out the day. Rarely do I ever feel hungry for famished. Additionally I either ride or run almost every night which gives me a little more wiggle room.
