I am a long distance member living in San Diego.

I tried to get some work done by Loud Pedal, but that didn't work out. I now have Koni yellow body shocks and LG Enterprises sways. The sways weigh many pounds, but coupled with the shocks I can run over a dime and tell if it is heads or tails.

Malcolm Johnson and I belong to Old Farts Racing for open road racing. Malcolm accepted a dowry of three sheep and one goat in exchange for letting his son get married. The wedding was on the date of the September Silver State event so Malcolm wasn't at the event. We had a team mate killed in the event. I was red flagged on course and the news hit me hard. Phil Bowser was one of the very best at this game. He was runnig a TT Porsche at 150 mph. I choose to believe that he had a medical emergency rather than him simply losing control.

I plan on coming to Wild Horse Pass in 2015, but that will be with my '06 SRT8 Charger.

I have no answers for the questions, just more questions.

Wow, some nice response here.... I'll address a few of you in a second so I hope that you didn't just post once and then not come back for a year...

I would like to say that while things change, it's a lousy excuse to leave. Sure the old times were fun but I've had just as many laughs in the last year as I did in the first ten. Of course I can't blame anyone for the days I miss visiting the forum except myself, yes life gets busy but I can always find a minute or two to see what's going on with ACE.

And, Owning a Corvette was never a requirement to be an ACE member.

Those of you who have sold or are in the market for a vette, you can still participate here, same goes for non-driving vette too

I miss events, Big Poppa, something actually happening somewhere other than Phoenix.

When are you going to plan an event?

You and Tim need to keep trying, bigger ACE events won't happen if you don't keep working on it, we did years of 3 to 10 members showing up, and sometimes it still happens here in Phoenix. Don't give up..

Owning a vette isn't a requirement to be an ACE member, have you seen the videos posted here lately of the new Z

I joined to participate in some cruises. We-wife and I- went on two. The cruises weren't cruises they were races. Most everybody roared off and left us in the dust. One of them went to Pumpkin Center for lunch. Quite a number of the folks started smoking in that small dining room --- we left. Oh well. i guess we don't fit in.

Yes everyone cruises at different speeds, sorry you felt left behind, it was always the ACE way to cruise at your own speed. The last thing we ever wanted to do was try to enforce limits here.

Hopefully you'll come back and try some more events, or even plan one yourself.

Unfortunately I work most weekends so that leaves me out of a lot of the meets. I am gonna try to make it to wild horse pass this Friday, and my car will probably be filthy

I can answer most all of those questions with one answer... Car still broke and moneys too tight to get it fixed so she sits going on 6 years! :-(

This will be the first year in over ten that we will not host our Christmas open house. Deb nor I have the energy this year, She was just told Tuesday her Cancer has returned. The transplant did not work.

I'm to damn busy fixing stuff I break on the Camaro. Broke the engine last Friday, at the East track. New one is installed, ready to go to Wilcox this weekend, and Wildhorse the next. Well, will need another set of tires and brakes.. they are 2 months old. But that was 6 track days.

I did detail the 68 Camaro last Sunday.

What can ACE do better, we need more Chads, and Cross's They crack me up. Bad Bobs stuff makes me smile.

I am kinda am a loner. I'm happy just touching the special areas on my Camaro, by myself, behind closed doors.... with the lights off. Same with my tool boxes.

I wanna thank everyone who helped me with my over heating problem this Summer. I think I'm good to go now. I'll know for sure next Summer. Let me know if there is a meeting or cruise or something in Flagstaff, I'd like to meet some of you. Or better yet, take a ride to the Grand Canyon. I'm the bartender there !!!!! And it's a cool place to see !

The second is what I would do.... The old timers have retired (with the exception of you Dawg) and no one has stepped up. How many years past 10 have you hosted the BBQ in GB? No one has picked up the reins.

Greetings from the Gila valley! We are behind you Richard and Debbie with prayers. as a cancer surviror now on dialysis, We haven't had a chance to run into the valley to join some meets. Will be at the Shriners show this weekend, I hope to see some aces there, maybe Mr. Husker plus others. You can drive other vehicles, but nothing compares to a vette!! I just bought a 2015 Stingray. This is my 6 th Corvette. I am workin in Saudi Arabia so my wife is enjoying the new ride. I get to see it for the first time in February. My first road trip will be to Las Vegas from Phoenix, my home town.

I try to read the post but my internet here is not that great, I enjoy it when I get to read the comments.

My question is why do most people not understand that the Corvette owners love their cars!!

I don't have answers to many of your questions. As a new member I deeply appreciated all the advice re: my C3 and got to meet and enjoy Doug Bromley and his good works. Now driving the GS and perfectly happy with the minor mods to brakes and suspension. I got to meet Ted when he detailed it a few years back. Enjoyed the burger run to Prescott with Extender and some of the crew. I always chose to ride, "the sweep" when on the Harley and prefer the same in the GS. I enjoy charity runs if legit. At age 60 I do not enjoy driving at night (need to get eyes fixed) and being a country boy from NH I detest driving into Phoenix. Rode a Harley out here from NH in 2004 and feel like I have ridden every road worth exploring here in AZ. I like that this is not a stuffy regimented, "club" and that has a big appeal to me. I wish there were more members in the north valley so spontaneous fun could happen. Might I suggest a telephone list that only members can access because you can't be spontaneous if you have to post it or failing that perhaps mentioning major cross streets (I am just north of Carefree Highway). Have enjoyed everybody I have met and had only one negative encounter with a keyboard commando on here and that speaks highly of this crew.

Commercial is the wrong word, diluted is more in line with what we experienced.

And we all agreed that placing business cards on every Corvette we saw without meeting the owners to see if they fit the ACE mold was a mistake. I think we are way past that problem now.

It just seems that since this summer, activity has been down, sure everyone is busier with life and ACE is just a hobby, but a fun hobby always draws you back...

So whats missing?

A bad experience sucks, to blame ACE or, to run away from ACE because of something ACE had no control over sucks worse.

A few have stepped up to watch over ACE, they are plenty capable of the task, and I feel proud to see they are sticking to the ACE way.

I still work the software/server, and I write teh newsletter.... my pay has been adjusted to reflect this change

We can do a phone list but then the forum would die, calling people is fine but you still need to post the event or anyone you didn't call would miss it and probably be mad....

The forum is still a really great way to communicate.
