Great! Hope you make it for the estrella to wicki part as its kinda cool compared to old 60. Plus the fresh baked bagels and coffee is top notch.

Great! Nice to see someone else up in the a.m.. I have a buddy going that I may be able to convert to an ACEhole from his precious misguided BMw's. That reminds me, I need to charge up the video cam and see how it works on the twisties.

Susie and I will be there...or just me if she decides to sleep in. :partydance: Sounds like a great route for a HD ride too...looking forward to it. Glad you are doing maps and checkpoints since 2 tickets in the past 4 months will keep me just a cruzin :banghead Be happy to stay in the back of the pack with anyone else who has a lead foot but can't use it for awhile.

Well worn route for me as a westsider. Been on it hundreds of times on bikes and cars. I have packets to hand out to each car with route and stops shown. I should have radios for sweep to make sure no man is left behind. Or no womans behind or errr ...... ooops. If anyone has a "slow" speedomter, I will be asking them to wait at each stop restpoint. Bruce ps- I have some nice bike rides out thisaway if your interested someday. Hours of farm field fun. Even some fine establishments out in the middle of nowhere to imbibe a cold refershment. But I am limited to 45-50mph and a cloud of oil on my old RE500. I dont go when its too hot out as she doesnt like heat. Let me know.

A spotter at the bottom records the vehicle and time and at the top of the hill they look at your elapsed time to determine if you have exceeded the speed limit. Probably because too many crotch rockets were blowing up the hill with avg speeds over 80mph (corners and all). Ahem. Not that I know personally of anyone speeding up the hill, but this is what I saw the last time I was there. I of course split the uphill with a stop and pause that refrfeshes which also gives me a respectqable elapsed time. Thankfully I always observe the posted speed limit.

They can do their "timing traps" all they want, but they can't do anything to you, unless they find other non moving violations.

I was on a Payson run with Scottsdale Exotic one time. We were coming down the hill & nearing the Ft. McDowell Reservation. Once we got to the stop light by the casino, they turned the light red for the lead car. They turned the light green & forced all of us over to the shoulder. One of the participants was an attorney who wanted to know why we were being pulled over. They said one officer clocked us 10 miles up the road & another at the bottom. They took the time & determined we averaged 110+. The attorney quickly responded that since the same person didn't do both timings, that they had nothing on us (too many variables to make it an accurate test of speed). They let all of us go.

Aloha Everyone I live up in Prescott. Myself, my brother and another friend would like to join you somewhere along the way. Can you tell me which way you are going from Wickenburg to Bagdad? Then I can figure out about what time to meet up with you.

Aloha!

we are going from wicki to kirkland junction via yarnell hill.

then from there we will go back to wicki via the bagdad route, but we are NOT stopping at bagdadio. Mexican food awaits back in wicki.

I dont have my charts or maps here, but I was thinking we will be at wicki around 10 ish. Then up yarnell hill to the top of the world around 11 (?)

If my cell works up thataways you can call me around 10am and i can give you a better estimate.

We would like to meet you at Kirkland Junction & 89. Google maps says it is 37 minutes from Wickenburg to Kirkland Junction. So we could be there at 10:30 am it sounds like to hook up with you.

Thanks for the question on direction. At the last minute I decided to do the loop counterclockwise in an attempt to turn back the hands of father time. I heard if we have ten vettes going counterclockwise we could create a time warp continuum vortex capable of returning us all to our youth, or at least in our minds. really. honest.

your picture looks like Walker. Whats really weird is my friend in walker has a blue z06 and a red truck (ford) out front. he also has a 1958 vette.

odd.

See you at the "junction"

petticoat junction.

The photo with my dog Molly is from Mormon Lake. Does look like Walker. I might know your friend or at least cruised with him.

I will PM my phone number to you and maybe you can call us when you get to Wickenburg.

I am counting on that "ten vettes going counterclockwise we could create a time warp continuum vortex capable of returning us all to our youth" thing.

I counted 11 going on your first post plus the 3 cars we have in case someone wimps out! See ya Sunday at Kirkland around 10:30 am.

is the old whorehouse still open in kirkland? Thinking it would make a good rest stop.

The Kirkland Bar is still open but they put up a fence around their parking lot with only one way in.

I don't know why. Looks kind of strange

They may have sold it. It has been for sale for years.

Still a nice place to stop.

See you at the junction then. I am thinking the bar/whorehouse will make a good nature break before we hit the twisties for quite awhile. Plus, not sure many people know the history of the place. The only whorehouse people know about nowadays is washington d.c.

The secret service knows some in other places.
