Dianne Posted August 22, 2007 Share Posted August 22, 2007 We will be doing a Sunday cruise this week to Tonto Basin (PROVIDED HURRICAN DEAN DOESN'T DUMP ON US). If it rains, trip is off.WE HAVE A NEW MEETING PLACE THAT WILL ACCOMMODATE A LARGE CROWD AND YOU CAN HAVE BREAKFAST.Sonic Restaurant on Daisy Mountain and Anthem Way (41135 N. Daisy Mount Drive, Anthem), has asked the corvettes to have breakfast there on Sunday's before our cruises. We went last week and it is like a Sonic you have never seen before. It is at least 2 1/2 stories high and you really have to look to find it because it doesn't look like a normal Sonic. You DO NOT eat in your car, you eat inside or you can sit out. We loved it there. Here are the directions: To get to Sonic in Anthem, take I-17 North and exit at Daisy Mountain. Sonic is about 2 miles east on Daisy Mountain, just back from the second stop light on Daisy Mountain, on the right-hand side, right before you get to Anthem Way. Again, it does not look like a Sonic. We will meet between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. in case you want to eat a little breakfast. We will leave at 9:30 a.m.Again, providing there is no rain, we will head out into the Tonto Basin area around Roosevelt Lake. Right now we are looking at Butcher's Hook for a lunch stop and then back into Phoenix. Return time should be around 2:00 p.m. or a little later, depending on how long we eat. We are still working out some minor details. But we will need an RSVP no later than Friday in the p.m. so we can make reservations. Jay checked into it and the roads are paved.
