3,503 lbs of trouble
I can not price match as Optima did a price increase. The prices are now higher for us...I know you would price match down to $109. 3 months ago. How much are you selling for now since the increase? Will you still match Costco? My DeLorean may need one soon. The NAPA version of the Optima I havs is almost 4 years old, and it's on it's way out. Buccaneer
I can not price match as Optima did a price increase. The prices are now higher for us and unless Luke AFB is still selling at the old price, I hate to lose a sell, but you might be better getting it from there. ChadCRAP! but thanks anyway Chad. Bigfoot
Luke's are now $139.95. You just don't pay sales tax if you come out here.

Guest Chad@AZPS
This is the first increase that Optima has done in the last 5 years. So I must say that it is tough to complain about the price increase but everyone wants more money. Now that price I can get closer to matching depending on the style and sixe of battery.Chad
3,503 lbs of trouble
This was posted in my DeLorean Group today by a friend who works for Mesa Airlines:Hey all,We had a meeting at work with our Optima batteries representativetoday. Optima won a very big, very lucrative contract with the U.S.Government today. I got the feeling from the conversation that theywere not expecting to be awarded the full contract that they won, sothey are scrambling to meet the government's terms. What this meansis that until they are able to add capacity, Optima batteries aregoing to become pretty scarce. Apparantly the new contract is goingto consume their current stock and all of their production. Good forOptima, not so good for the consumer, in the short-term. In fact,consumer-available Optima batteries are quickly approaching doubleprice from their last offering. We were referred to the "Deka Intimidator" battery as asubstitute until the Optimas become commercially available once again.I bought an "Orbital" gel-cel battery from NAPA this year and havehad very good results with it. I installed it before the trip toChicago and it has not let me down.Just wanted to share this new information with all of you.MattVIN 16816Sounds like you better get with Chad soon if you want one.
