Another customer getting "blown"

Another sweet project in the shop this week. We previously installed the Pfadt Johnny O'Connel suspension package along with their motor/trans mounts. He was very pleased with how much the cars handeling improved but just like everyone else got bit and now wants more POWER! The customer was looking to make enough power to beat a 911 Turbo on the freeway (in Mexico of course) and still have decent driveability. We did a before dyno run and were pretty suprised to say the least. The only mods are American Racing Headers and Blackwing intake.

Its safe to say this thing runs strong.

Here is the recipe to meet the customers expectations.....

D1SC Procharger with helical gear upgrade

Custom specd Blower cam from FTI

Lunati Dual Valve Springs

Chromoly Pushrods

Comp Trunion Bearing Upgrade

Ron Davis Radiator

C6 Z06 Fuel Pump

60lb Injectors

All necessary gaskets/fluids

So on the lift she goes. Will continue to update as things progress

Lets hear some final number guesstimates from you guys.

My estimate will be "More than enough to smoke the 911". What is the odd looking bump in HP / Torque at the 5k rpm mark?

Final Effort

OK so what happens when the 911 gut throws the same amount of $$ to his car. Is the 911 stock already set on kill or do they have room for improvement?

without seeing the cam specs ..... my guess is 480hp and 100 add to the torque number

Hello folks can you say heat soak.... lucky to get 555 rwhp is my guess. now maybe more if it cools down or dyno is done at night in the 80* temps.

Really depends on how big of a pulley you put on it. How much boost? 5# number will be much different than a 10# number.

Could possibly be torque management peeking its head since its untuned with those mods.

Excellent point! How much boost is very important, I was just assuming around 8 or 9 lbs. Mine was 555 rwhp in the cooler temps B.C. (before cam) When the cam was installed in the middle of summer and the car was put on the dyno I actually lost 5 hp due to the 30*+ increase in temps from my last dyno back in the spring.

550rwhp would be my guess unless boost is cranked up a bit from a 'standard' install. (if there is such a thing as a 'standard' install :) Sounds like FUN in any case :) -Frank

Now he's gonna need stickier tires!

Cam, springs, radiator, intercoolers, etc all in. Working on getting the rest of the blower components on.

Git 'er done! Any chance I'll be able to watch you dyno it when I run down there on Thursday?

Very cool, really like the twin intercoolers out of the airsream for the radiator. Plus, being a SC type unit sure makes install cleaner without having to worry about oil lines. :thumbs
