Amplifier Grounding?

Phill's Vette

Iam in the process on installing an audio system in the 82; in other cars I have had to run the amp ground wires to a good ground spot close to the amps. The amps for the vette will be close to the battery as the battery sit behind the back seat. So can I just run the grounds directly to the negative top post on my Optima Redtop instead of to a typical good metal ground? I don't see why not, but thought I'd better ask first.

Thanks!

Not only can you, it's better that way... you avoid extra noise in the system due to ground-loops. In my Jeep the only way I could get the CB to be even usable was to run power and ground straight from the battery.
