He made some passes Tuesday night at Atco on DRs that netted his Cartek built C5 turbo a couple of 9 second time slips.

First pass: 9.92@138

Second pass: 9.88@137.95 on a 1.41 sixty foot

10 pounds of boost and on 93 octane pump gas

Video to follow

Thanks for the props guys , I accomplished my first goal of running 9's on 93 octane with the same tires I drive on every day . Now the boost controller goes in and we turn up the boost .

Looking forward to the cool fall air and some track rentals .

not bad for drag radials and a rear mount turbo kit :)

How much money was involved in the project, start to finish?

Any other mods besides the turbo kit?

I find it hard to believe a turbo can get a C5 in the mid 9's on pump gas, no NOS or motor work.

I hope it's true, but have seen more thrown into a car with less results.

3,503 lbs of trouble

A single turbo and drag radials, otherwise a stock C5 on 93 octane running in the 9s? :huh Why is my bullshit alarm glowing red hot?

Turbo kit is about $5500 for a single setup, 388s forged are around $4500 all day long online, $2499 for AFR 225s, $400 for turbo cam, then labor :)

hey mike - i heard there is also an STS TWIN kit - has one been installed and ran?

then my stupid question - you would think that if 1 big turbo was good, 2 medium to big turbos would be better - why does it seem that some of the supra guys are pulling the twins and opting for a single big turbo (i realize supras are a bit of a different animal, as i heard they are sequential turbos - that doesn't hold true for say a vette TT setup.)

so is 1 better or is 2 better?

and WHY?
