ChadC Posted November 28, 2007 Share Posted November 28, 2007 avoid AMD.there new quad CPU is falling flat on its face.when looking at dual and quad CPU understand this. Most applications are single threaded and really dont benifit from the dual/quad prossor. The secret wepon for computer speed (for the average user that is) is RAM speed and the speed it communicates back and forth with the CPU. That back and forth speed is called FSB (Front Side Bus). Get the fastest FSB, 2-4 GB of RAM (anything more than 4 is over kill..again in most normal applications), and the fastest CPU GhZ you can afford. IF you can shoot for a HD that is 7200RPM.
