BSeery
I have not read the articles yet, just read your post.I do remember a contest in 198x from VH1. One person won 1 model year Corvette from 1953 - 1989. If I remember right, some of them got sold off to Peter Max, the artist. Now I am going to go read the articles and see how good my memory was. BSeery
From the first article --- "A lone white ?61 rests outside the fence. On its back end, someone has scrawled NO ONE LOVES THESE VETTES! in the grime. "From the second one ---I would guess that is a 1981 and not a 1961. Desertdawg
Anyone wanna bet that most of those end up at ProTeam sometime in the future...
3,503 lbs of trouble
I do remember that contest. I don't know if winning would be a blessing or a curse. Yes, who not love to have a Corvette from every production year, but the reality is what random winner would want, or could afford the maintenance, insurance, storage, etc on all those cars. Unless you're Leno, you'd have to sell them. Then it's a huge tease. "I had all those Vettes, but could not keep them" How heartbreaking would that be?One could only hope they would end up at Pro Team. They may be a bunch of rip off artists, but at least they would care for the cars.
Eddie44
Saw the post on the CF but don't remember the VH1 event.Maybe Leno will rescue them, he's a Vette lover.
