Electric door locks

Recommended Posts

I've owned my 1982 Corvette for 20 years. I'm that time I have put three sets of electric door locks actuators in it. They work great at first but slowly through the years they lose the power to lock & unlock. I'm averaging 5-6 years to a set. Just wondering if this is a normal situation for a car that is not driven frequently. Thanks!

Mine are starting to slow a bit, but mine are original. May be that the new ones are all...Made in China? I'll leave mine alone until they go out. GL :thumbs

They probably were. Bought them through a couple different corvette supply dealers. They probably stock the same part from the same manufacturer.

I thought there was a newer part that fit the 82’s. Like something from the mid 90’s that performed better.
