I am replacing the oil presure sending unit - next to the distributor, between the firewall and the engine.

I can get a wrench on the nut but cannot cannot get a turn because of the tight space.

Anybody ever change out one of these on an 82?

Questions:

Do I need a special wrench?

Need I remove the distributor?

Should I cut a hole in the firewall? (Just Kidding) :bang

Thanks!

Special socket on C5's...dunno about C3's. Sounds reasonable though.

I did the one on my 82 a couple of years ago, I had to remove the distributer to get to it. plus If I remember right, I had to use the wrench like a socket and put a screwdriver in the box end to get it broke loose....

Thanks for the help!

I found a stubby wrench set at Harbor Freight and got it off easy. Thought I was doing good not needing to remove the distributor but couldn't get the new part tight enough - off came the dist. and all was fine.

Happy New Year! :howdy
