corvettech
I will be leaving the dealership repair world this week and starting a new career in teaching. since my motorcycle accident three years ago ive been going back to college to gain my teaching credentials as I was doubting whether or not I would be able to still twist my back into a pretzel ten to fifteen years from now. I met some people there that got me a job teaching night classes in automotive hvac at Arizona western college, from there my information was passed on to the high school district. I was contacted and informed of an opening for an automotive teacher at one of the high schools, for which I interviewed and got the job which starts in January for the second semester. I am going to miss the detective work or diagnostics and the prestige that came from being the only corvette specialist in town (more of a self appointed title realy). most of all I am going to miss my corvette clients with whom I consider to be more friends than customers. I know many people in Yuma don't come on here anymore (still staying neutral on that) and I try to keep a low profile on here unless I have something useful to add from a technician's perspective. I'm still going to maintain a presence on the forum, just less as a tech and more as an owner of America's best sports car.

HOXXOH
You're going to love teaching kids, especially when the hands on part will reveal their big smiles. Look back at that motorcycle accident as a portal to your future.
corvettech
thanks for all the well wishes. I do intend to include corvettes in the curriculum just not right away, they'll have to master the complex power of the mighty Brigs and Stratton first. the high school I'm going to be teaching at hasn't had an automotive program for a few years and the last guy had only intended to be temporary so all my students are first year. Desertdawg
All the best in the new career John, hope it is easier on the body... And your ACE involvement should increase substantially since most of us can offer advise on how to deal with those students...
