So Stacey and I decide to take a drive up to Jerome ourselves.

ADOT confirmed 89 was open & with Yarnell out of harms way we decided to drive up thru there.

Well I HAD to give my new swaybars a checkout.

When wouldnt ya know it just a couple of corners into the first hill, Look who's waiting to checkout my awesome Z06.

Verified my brakes will slow my Z down from a criminal speed to civil.

Needless to say the rest of the drive was within the posted limits.

Ring the bell. Traffic school is in session.

As soon as I came around the corner my detector lit up like crazy. He was parked on the right shoulder

Too late,

I slowed down quite a bit, but as soon as I saw his brake lights light up I knew I was done. I just pulled over in front of where he was parked.

Thing I noticed from the ticket is that you dont sign anything anymore, It's all printed on a printer in their cruiser.

That's just bad luck. At least he was nice enough to drop it to civil.

We saw only one during the whole cruise and he was just on the downhill while exiting from Jerome toward Cottonwood.

I didn't even see any heading back on the 17.

Bummer!  Sport bikes like to carve that hill, so popular hunting ground for DPS. Sorry you got nailed. :(

That sucks.  You let your guard down for a moment and that moment turns out to bite you.

I've learned a few yrs ago cruising up there with some GTO guys that DPS like to sit on the hill just as you start the climb. I fortunately wasn't popped as I was a "meat" between a pair of red GTO's and DPS pulled them over. So I've learned to scan the hill as soon as I leave Congress and look for a steady flash of light from the sun shinning off their cruisers. But sorry you got popped.

The same place they pulled me over! But the officer liked my plate frame enough to call for back up to show his buddy!

Yup, I always look for the Flash of light.  I've seen that guy sitting there more times than I care to remember..
