Custom Garage Cabinets

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just bought a new house a few weeks ago and I'm looking to get some built in cabinets in it to go with my new shiny epoxy floor :cherye:

I figured there's many like minded fellas on this fine forum that may have some personal experience with some local guys that do this sort of thing.

I've got a couple guys coming over to give me some estimates already, but just wanted to throw it out there cause personal experiences are always best :cheers

Obligatory garage pic...

Cheepest way is to buy

preassembled kitchen cabs. Formica top and your done.

I built my own and finished in

lacquer gloss black.

That was my first plan, and what I did at my last house...

If I end up getting quotes for ridiculous $$ I'll end up going that way again

You need better lighting in your garage and you need to replace the header seal on your garage door

Classy Closets did mine. One thing they suggested and I'm glad they did was legs on the wall cabinets. Much easier to hose out the mess.

We also only did them for the bench and third bay. More room in the double bay minimizes door dings.

I did these unfinished ones I stained white 25 years ago.  I mounted them on 2x4's to raise them up higher to my liking.

Have you conidered going to Lowes and buying some Kobalt garage cabinets? For about $500 you can get 2 of their 60"x30'x21 floor cabinets and 2 of their smaller 36"x30"x21 cabinets.

They are easy to assemble but they are heavy as hell.

Greg,

You're not worried about the golf cart falling off the top of that cabinet?   :(

At my age, everything is an issue mostly because nothing works anymore!  :(

Thanx!

We had a his and hers checklist when we went house shopping.. she got her kitchen and walk in closet/bathroom... I got my garage and 4th bedroom "man cave!"

Now I just have to furnish everything. First step was the flooring, 2 coats took about 3 days. Next is cabinets then work bench, lighting etc... plan on having a Maxjax In there this time next year :partydance:

I say ...  ACE party at your house.

Since you you still need to furnish it we won't be able to break much.

FYI. BadBob can get a discount on midget strippers.

Nope, it's just a partial that straps to the bag.

Saw this at Costco today

10' 2"" long all metal

photo DOSN'T show left cabinet bank. No room on shelf.

image.jpegimage.jpeg

has metal feet to allow to clean under cabinets.

$999.99 seems like sturdy Ga. Metal.

Just an idea!!
