ThanksYes, I believe it is about $10 a month.It gives you the program guide so TiVO knows what to record and when!!You can do the same thing with the right video capture card and be able to save those playboy channel vids to disk Bro!! I know you are computer challenged!!There are a couple varities out there, so don't pay big $$ for an old version!! I think the DVR is $9.95 if it hasn't gone up. You will love it when you get used to it. Ours is constantly recording something on Speed Channel (Me) or Food Channel (Wife). AndrewI guess I just need the Tivo unit unless I have to have a converter box to use it. In Chandler we don't need a converter box unless you get premium channels. I think the DVR costs an extra $5 a month and overall the direct tv is better and cheaper (by a little bit) than cable. Just like cable extra boxes are $5 per month. They usually set up 1-4 boxes for you, give you your DVR, and have some type of free packaging option for 3 months just for switching over.
