Why is a gun I want always too expensive.

I know your price is not too high for the market, but why are revolvers like this so expensive. I want a 44 mag so bad.

Dirty Harry did start the .44 Magnum craze in the 70s. When Safe-T-Hammer bought Smith & Wesson from the Brits and installed the locks in the revolvers, collectors hated the change. They looked different and the fear of the locks possibly malfunctioning when the guns were needed drove a huge number away from the new revolvers. Then MIM parts and composite barrels (in some models) further alienated Smith lovers and collectors. Certain classic models go for BIG bucks, the pinned and recessed models for example. It is just the market.

If you PM me the serial# I can ask Roy Jinks, the S&W Historian for the month & year it was shipped from the factory.

He started the Smith and Wesson Collectors Assn. 45 years ago and wrote many books about the brand.

I'll dig it back out tomorrow and send it to ya.

I know it's not super valuable. It's moderately used with some wear on it.

Thanks and again sorry for the hijack, you 44 looks damn nice :thumbs
