Desertdawg
Man, there's so many buttons and knobs, what the hell do they all do????? And I even have one of them buttons with little car pic and squiggly lines behind it... At least in the 82 all I had to do was punch it, now I have to ask permission to just start the thing. Guest Sidewinder
Dawg, The button is the traction cont. push it once and ALL drivers aids are off and you will see a vette doing a burnout on the speedo. If you hold the button down for 4 secs it goes into comp mode turning off traction control but leaving on stability control. Check your codes with this http://www.stengel.net/diccodes.htm Have a pencil and paper readyCnV?
Bigfoot
I definitely recommend getting a service manual set. Got mine from ebay for less than $100. 3 volume set makes me think I'm working on a jet. :D
Desertdawg
Thanks for the link Mark. Yeah CnV. they did me good on the 82 when we bought it, and they gave me a decent amount for it on trade in....Sean, I'll look into a set of manuals. Eddie44
I disagree Chad. Plenty of talk on the CF that the earlier models you have to be stopped to engage the competition mode but it's still there. May have been an part of an option or something but I think it was still there on some. I'll give you that I'm not 100% sure. Someone else know for sure. Any of you with those early year C5's have it?EDIT: Okay the below post on CF pretty well explains it. It's part of Active Handling which was an option on the early C5's. Here you go, reading is fundamental! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread...ompetition+Mode
