Does anyone recommend a January auction?

You will need to hurry to get it in this January's auctions.

My best advice to you is to do some research and make an informed decision based on the auction company you are personally most comfortable with.

Since your car is not in the CPI (Cars of Particular Interest) Catalog, and the car does not have a pedigree of awards; you will likely have to settle for a non-prime selling slot on a Thursday or a Sunday.

Barrett-Jackson by far has the most traffic, but you will not be able to place a reserve on the car.

Russo and Steele is very popular as well, along with RM Auctions.

Another option is to frequent the car shows leading up to the auctions and ensure people who appear interested in the car know it is available for purchase. I have seen some cars move in this fashion, but be careful of show and meet rules, some specifically prohibit for sale signs and active solicitation for sale (not that it does not happen).

Just remember, people come to these auctions looking to buy the things you don't see every day. When you consign and have the car cataloged, remember the details that make it stand apart or stand out. If you are unable to get at least six potential buyers excited in the car, you will more than likely take a bath on it.

Good luck!
