Guest SrbijaAZSale
I have been staring at the hid headlamp upgrade for my Z, and just wondering if anyone had it (because, as you all know, our night lights suck)? I'm talking about the complete kit including the lamps, hids, and everything?http://www.tbyrnemotorsports.com/c5/c5hid.jpg
Guest Chad@AZPS
Please give us a call. We can get you a kit. I have installed many kits in the past that have had a few glitches, so please be aware buying HIDs from out of state.Chad
Guest SrbijaAZSale
Thank you for your offer, and I can get the entire kit directly from ACA (the manufacturer) for $875, but my interest is to see if anyone has installed them on the vehicle and how they like them.Alex
1EvilC5
Check with Glenn (ICULUKN) I believe that he has HID lights. I know that he says they light up the night like it was daytime.
ChadC
there are several paths you can go hereHID with a Projecor lamp (the round fishbowl glass thingie)PRO: bright, works great.CON: expensiveHID inside the factory lamp PRO: much less, around $400 for the parts.CON: against DOT laws (Gasp! oh no!) "fuzzy" light pattern. Like factory but brighter.110/90watt light inside a Euro Spec light (t86)This is a glass lamp that was used overseas for the euro vetts.PRO: 70% of the light output vs HID. Sharp defined light pattern (like the projection lamp). you can find used for $260.CON: you cant brag that you have HIDI have teh euro spec lights bought on a luckey guess. I wanted HID, but I dident have the $$$. After installing, its not worth the $700 for the 30% light increase. my 2 ctscheerschad
MOTV8
Um...I know this doesn't really apply, but I do have HIDs on my bike, and they are AMAZING! It is a mod for the 'vette that I certainly plan on in the future. The stock lights bite.
ICULUKN
I have the HID's... from the technical standpoint they are illegal as HIDs are supposed to reflect the light instead of project a beam. My HID's make high beams look dim.I also have the PIAA 1100x foglights which is a HUGE improvement over stock.
tcalZ06
I have a kit done by AZ Power and Sound. It is great. Much better than regular lights
