Guest 68Vette
68 Corvette has 327- 350 HP engine. At idle or below 1000 rpm oil pressure drops to 8 to 10 lbs. Normal driving pressure holds at 35 lbs. Local repair shop believes it's the oil pump. I had the oil changed recently, which did not improve the issue. The repair shop recommended changing the oil again and adding a oil additive that they thought might improve the problem. I put less than 500 or 600 miles per year on the car. Any thoughts or suggestions? Ralph Skokan

LastC3
Agree with the others on your other tread Ralph ....... that idle pressure is way too low ..... but would certainly want to first confirm with an external gauge .... http://www.arizonacorvetteenthusiasts.net/arizonavette/forums/index.php?showtopic=21222 With your location, Doug is closest to you .... and will do a great job in identifying the problem and recommend easy fix ..... Would not use additives in that motor ... Not Good !!!
