What is the only word in the English language that becomes longer when you add 2 letters?

I took you literally, if I took the word long and added 2 letters it becomes longer...

Plus you could relate it to the old joke, .. spell it ....

AND, doesn't EVERY word get longer when you add 2 letters? and shorted if you take off 2 letters ???

Right, I actually screwed up the riddle, supposed to be what is the only word that becomes shorter when you add two letters. Thanks for playing and I award you the power to keep running the board. :partygrnhat:
