az57chevy
Arizona Introduces Bill to Reduce Fees for Old CarsLegislation (H.B. 2017) has been introduced in the Arizona State legislature that would provide for a $16 one-time registration fee for vehicles 25-years old and older. The bill also provides for a $50 one-time license plate fee and a one-time $34 vehicle license tax for these vehicles. The measure would further allow the director of the state's Department of Environmental Quality to exempt 25-year old and older vehicles from mandated emissions inspections. Under a law enacted last year, qualified collectible vehicles (at least 15-years old) could be exempted from emissions inspection if approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as part of Arizona's state plan for air quality. We Urge You to Contact Members of the House Transportation Committee (List Below) Immediately to Request Their Support for H.B. 2017 · Under current Arizona law these vehicles are charged an annual registration fee of $8; an initial license plate fee of $25 with an annual renewal of $10; and an annual vehicle license tax fee depending on the value of the vehicle. Please contact members of the Arizona House Transportation Committee immediately by phone or e-mail to request their support for this bill. Please e-mail a copy of your letter to stevem@sema.org . Thank you for your assistance. BSeery
I just don't give a damn anymore. Remember this is the same group that said that I could not convert a 1980 gas guzzler from carburetor to fuel injection because it meant removal of an emissions control device (the carb). Too stupid to see that I now get double the gas mileage and producing less than 1/2 the allowable emissions.I lived here for 12 years and go crapped on every year. I'm moving where they won't pick on me each year for owning a classic car. Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.Best of luck to those who still have to deal with one of the most stupid governmental departments on the face of the earth.
