Drove the 72 to work

Consider this a milestone. Got new tires for it yesterday. The set that came with the car had developed flat spots from sitting so long and couldn?t be balanced. Not to mention they were showing the first signs of dry rot. Felt like I was riding on square stone tires.

Now rides as smooth as a 72 Vette can.

Car still has no heat/AC, creeks, rattles, no carpet, windows do not go all the way up and are scratched, and needs new suspension bushings. Most fun car I?ve ever had. Hope to drive out to work at least once a week. 45 mile round trip.

I know you guys will probably not be in any shape to have the BBQ this year but maybe we could find a restaurant or something up that way. We'd all love to see the 72 in person. I assume it will be sometime before we'll see it on a cruise as there's less room in one of those than in an FRC for a baby seat. Be thinking about a place that might put up with this bunch!

Cliff Castle Casino comes to mind. 1.5 hours from PHX right off I-17. Could even get some bowling in to work off lunch.

The Vette even got me back home. :cheers

Very cool Keith!!

I loved wrenching on my '70!!

Well, when I was young enough that a bottle jack and a couple of concrete blocks were how you changed oil!!

The old bones just don't cooperate the way they used to!

But setting the float levels after rejetting a Holley 800 spreadbore on a 454 BB at 5400 ft at my first highspeed autocross in Salt Lake City, Utah brings back the memories!!

From Frustration (why isn't this working), to Elation (OH, that's what they meant, holy crap! What a difference!).

Just enjoy yourself!

My problem isn't old bones. A bottle jack just doesn't get a Vette high enough to slip my 53 yr old belly under it. Rhino ramps are tight! :lol

Why do you think I built that large wooden lift system for my car / belly?

Congrats on getting the car on the road Keith. I was just thinking about it today. I was thinking of having to put my 1980 on a UHaul trailer to take to Tenn and was remembering the fun of putting your '72 on the trailer. :ack

We are enjoying our last few months of freedom :D Took the top off the 72 today and drove it to the Casino with Kelly for lunch(she had her top on). What a frigen blast.

She even drove the Vette back home, grin from ear to ear.
