Let's see if we can stump Michael (Two Snails) this time ....... #6 Guess What I Am?

As Corvette Enthusiasts we get to know our cars pretty good, let's take that a step further and test your ability to identify images of taken from our hobby.

I will post an image and you will be allowed 2 guesses a day.

If after 7 days the image has not been correctly identified, I will give a clue, a new clue will be given every 7 days.

Remember this is all in good fun, so don't get if you can't figure it out.

This is meant to test your visual knowledge, so have some fun and maybe, just maybe we'll throw in some goodies for the harder items...

In order to win, your answer must be as accurate as possible. A broad answer will not count as a win.

Remember only 2 guesses per calendar day (24 hour period)!

old yeller

1) looks like a piece that goes into the A/C evaporator or ...

2) the top part of the heater core

Those are my two guesses for 24 hours.

Marana Rich

looks like a vacuum connector, probably for the wipers

(these cars are too old for me to know about)

If I had to make a realistic guess, I would say it's a part of the air pump system, under the hood close to the exhaust where the one feed tube from the pump splits into the two runners that feed the exhaust.

But... If I know Dawg, it's the attachment piece to his double dong wonder wand that he lost at his last super super man tail hook party.

And no Dawg, we won't help you look for it. Stop asking.

The part only went on the Corvette in 1966 and 1967 on the L-79 327.

The GM part number for the valve is 5354988.

I am now retiring to give everyone a fair chance. Desertdawg, let me know if you need help with corvette items or trivia to keep the group guessing.

Well here was the info I had for the part:

66-67 Smog AIR check valve 427cu

But you know I think I believe you more than the website I found the part on...

Hell at this rate your going to be challenging my post count soon!!! :lol

LOL,

I am 99% sure I am right because of the whacky carbs that they had to use with that style of secondary air injection. The valve was used on the 66 Impala 327 and the 67 Camaro 327 as well.

(The only way I knew what it was is because my Camaro knowledge is 100 times deeper than my Corvette knowledge).

I could be wrong, it's been known to happen :banghead

Here is one on a 327 (cropped off at the botom of the pic), maybe a 427 used them too, not sure.
