they can no longer deny coverage because of pre-existing conditions for ever.

I had no idea that applied to mental conditions.

Is being SUPER AWESOME a condition?

Huh.. I did not know that.

If you did not know that, then you don't qualify as super awesome. Sorry!

Yeah, that'll probably qualify for something, but you might not want to know what.

I have to remark on that, I dont have insurance and can't get it but "I am against Obamacare"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remind me to say "I informed you thusly" when you receive the same bill and end up filing bankruptcy.

That kind of bill shouldn't happen to anyone. I will even offer to contribute to the costs Chris. Just as those of us who happen to be in a good position at the moment should. There may come a time I'm not in that position and I believe what goes around comes around.

For your information I have received bigger bills!

Look up MercyHealthCareGroup.com, They have to cover pre existing conditions after 1 year enrollment for 350 a month...in that 1 year they cover everything else. It's for business owners. What if I don't have a business? If you start a business selling say...rocks or whatever... even if you intend to do business but never do, you will also get great write off to offset your taxes while being someone else's employee...even if you didn't make a cent in your "business".. the requirement are; a minimum of 2 participants (wife and you) and a corporation or LLC (easy to do yourself). You can be a Sole proprietor if you have two 2 employees under you working more them 20 hours a week, then you really do work for yourself though. Do you Follow me here?

The quote is from the show, "Big Bang Theory".

I didn't think anyone was going to get that. Sheldon is awesome!

Sorry to revive an olde thread, but I'm about to go through teh wonderful billing portion of situation. Chris, what ended up happening with you and your sitch? :confused I'll pay what's fair, and I really want to keep my credit as is, but I'm not going to kill myself to do it, if I have to go teh bankruptcy route, so be it. I also was opting for insurance this coming enrollment period, now, there ain't no way I'll be able to do it until this is taken care of. :banghead

Well, I have 5 or 6 bills that I am paying on, all little by little. The big one from the hospital, I have called them and they still haven't settled the matter. I submitted my paperwork to the finance department and they are supposed to look it all over and get back to me with a lower amount. I have called them a couple times and they say that they haven't gotten to it yet. So, I am still waiting...

OK....they have hit me for teh MRI, triage short sonogram, triage doctor, anethisiologist, surgical assistant and a ECRU(?) heart specialist sonogram since every time they gave me something my blood work said I was low on (potassium teh first time, magnesium teh second), my pulse would spike like a mofo, so they hauled in a specialist with a $10 million machine that goes *bing*. Thus far, I'm a little over $3600, and I know damn well teh big uns are on teh way.

I was there for three, and they tried their damnest to go for a fourth. They couldn't find a doctor to officially release me in 12 hours, they kept coming up with excuse after excuse, so I got dressed and started to walk out when teh head nurse appeared with my discharge stuff... :huh

Ya, I made them discharge me so soon that I don't even remember driving home I was so shitty on meds. Probably a bad idea in hind sight, but as the clock was spinning all I saw was dollar signs.

For Christmas (recieved it on X-Mas Eve), we got a bill for $34k, which says it reflects a 45% discount for cash. I hope this is teh only biggie, while very high, isn't bankruptcy-worthy....I'll be getting hold of their accounting this am, so we'll see what shakes loose.
