Last year's C6Rs sold, gonna kick ass in Europe

8 C6R's live in this world. Chassis #’s 003, 005, 006 were for sale at 2007 year-end.

When you purchase a P&M C6R, you get-

* A complete, fully freshened car [Engine included. Tech updates, upon request and $$].

* Technical instructions for maintenance and operation.

* Race and qualifying setup data.

* Access to Euro-based P&M and Katech engineers.

The cars are put on a pallet, sent air-freight, and delivered ready to go.

Every team is treated equally, every customer is #1.

Actually, the “Corvette-athon” sales event is over, the deals are done, the lot is bare, and the FIA-GT series will look a lot more Corvette-y in 2008! :devil

* Phoenix Racing / Team Holland bought #005 to add to their Spa-winning #001 C6R. BTW- at year end, remember they ran an Aston as a 2nd car…..1 less AM on the grid, now!

* Luc Alphand bought #003 to match up with #004. The new car will remain the Valeo-sponsored C6R, with the 2 Ollies appearing from time to time to wring it out. No, this is not a factory-effort, but LA is a long-time good friend of Corvette Racing.

* SRT Belgium sold their C5R to make room for the purchase of #006 C6R.

PSI still owns and will race #002. PK Carsport took the Saleen money and traded their C5R for the ‘factory support’ for 2008. In total, 11 Corvettes in Europe- 6 C6R, 5 C5R.

Chassis #007 and #008 are brand new and will be raced by P&M in 2008. :rockon2:

We should have pooled our money and bought one!!!

It's going to be fun watching all the fiberglass running around ahead of all the competition. :rockon2:

Check the FIA GT website, if you're rabidly interested, after all it is Euros racing around, but they are in previous "works" 'vettes and they do pretty dam good at kickin butt even with the (now competitive) Saleens, Astons, and Maseratis. And lately a couple of the Corvette Racing team drivers have been showing up on their weekends off to help wring out the ole' horses and show 'em how it's done. :banannasword: The site has a decent (when updated) news section and a team/car biography area.

I was a little confused for a minute, but now it's all better.

FIA GT series is NOT Euro LeMans...no wonder I couldn't find Luc Alphand anywhere...

FIA GT doesn't begin until 20 April. More Vettes in FIA GT3 than in Euro LeMans.

P&M makes a "production" C6 calles the C6RS, it looks a lot like the C6R...... if your really interested... its supposedly not too terribly far off from the C6R.

You are correct sir....FIA GT kicks off finally this weekend at Silverstone. Three Maseratis, three Corvette C6.Rs, three Saleens and three Aston Martin DBR9s and three other cars (a Lamborghini Murcielago, a Corvette C5-R and a Ferrari 550) are competing in GT1. FIA GT1 preview

Now that's a full field of cars I'd like to see race. Might rain there this weekend...don't Lamborghinis melt in the rain??? :banannasword:

Euro-update: Le Mans series barn burner at Monza (results), Aston nips Corvette by 12 seconds, but more shockingly, and the real reason I posted was this guy Ortelli survived this flipperoo crash: Utoob Watch how close he sails by the Audi's rear... :eek

Sphincter factor: 8/10 twitch.gif

He survived it, 'bout as good as you could hope for...

The 1000kms at Spa is next, then on to Le Mans....Olivier Beretta is NOT driving in the Alphand 'vette and there is another Aston joining the field:

"The Luc Alphand Aventures team has a commanding lead in the LM GT1 class having won the opening race in Barcelona, and narrowly finished second at Monza to the Team Modena Aston Martin BR9 of Tomas Enge and Antonio Garcia.

After a dramatic race in which the two teams ran rarely more than 15 seconds apart, the gap at the finish was just 12 seconds and more of the same is expected in Belgium.

The driving line-up has reverted to original form with team owner Luc Alphand joining Guillaume Moreau and Patrice Goueslard, the Frenchman replacing the multiple GT1 drivers' champion Olivier Beretta.

The second Corvette C6R will be driven again by Sebastien Dumez, Jean-Luc Blanchemain and Patrice Manopoulos, who finished on the podium at Monza and lie fourth in the class standings.

The GT1 grid will be boosted at Spa by the arrival of a second Aston Martin DBR9, entered by the Strakka Racing team and driven by Peter Hardman and Nick Leventis.

The British team is making its debut in the series this weekend, while established competitors Peter Kox and Roman Rusinov continue in the IPB Spartak Racing Lamborghini Murcielago. They had a difficult race at Monza, and will hope to do better than fourth in class. "

Michelin cleaned up....

Michelin triumphs at Spa and Gleans information for the Le Mans 24 Hours.

This weekend's Battle of the Ardennes produced a superb win for Michelin and the N°7 Peugeot HDI FAP of Nicolas Minassian/Marc Gené/Jacques Villeneuve ahead of the N°2 Audi shared by Mike Rockenfeller and Alexandre Prémat. The top-three was rounded off by the N°6 Courage-Oreca which collected its maiden Le Mans Series podium in the hands of Olivier Panis/Nicolas Lapierre who started from the pit-lane.

Michelin also secured victory in the LMP2 category with the Van Merksteijn-run RS Porsche Spyder of Jos Verstappen/Peter Van Merksteijn who crossed the line just 10 seconds clear of the similar Team Horag Spyder.

The French tyre firm was successful in the GT1 category, too, with the Luc Alphand Aventures C6.R driven by Luc Alphand/Guillaume Moreau/Patrice Goueslard. The French trio finished ahead of the IPB Spartak Lamborghini of Peter Kox and Roman Rusinov who proved particularly competitive round the Belgian circuit. Third place in GT1 went to the Modena-run Aston Martin with Tomas Enge and Antonio Garcia at the wheel.

Last but not least, Felbermayr-Proton Porsche 997s claimed second and third places in GT2 for Michelin, while the Michelin Energy Endurance Challenge was won at Spa by the Horag LMP2 prototype.

Next stop...Le Mans.
