Thanks, Tom

Hello,

It's been some time since I last posted. I have been chatting some with Andrew over at DC and he suggested getting together at my garage in Chandler for one of the Corvette Sunday events. I'm always looking for an excuse to buy beer and pizza so I thought this sounded like a great idea.

Oh, and while we're all there we might just bolt my body back on my chassis :partydance:

Below are some pics of where the chassis is today. I am finalizing clean up and the replacement of some of the steel underbody reinforcements, and soon the body will be ready to be joined with the frame. I was sidetracked somewhat with helping my son build his '70 Mustang (flame suit on) and working on my street rod project (38 Dodge biz coupe - but it has a Chevy motor) so I haven't gotten a lot done over the past 9 months. I'm excited about getting back on the Vette and getting the body and frame back together.

I look forward to meeting some of you on March 2nd.

Thanks to Andrew for getting this going!!! :partygrnhat:

Tom

Wow - nice bike Rick!!!

I'm a half mile south west from the Alma School exit and 202 (Santan FWY).

Hey you're close - we're kinda like neighbors!!!

Thanks Tom

We are close, probably are probably about 3 miles apart. If you know of anyone looking for a nice bike cheap, that one can be had

Rick

  • 2 weeks later...

All,

I sent PMs to the folks who have expressed and interest in coming over in March but wanted to post this here also:

I regretably will need to push out my Mrch 2nd body drop.

My mother in law was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and my wife will need to go back to OH again to spend some more time with her. She is starting kemo and radiation soon. Here surgery went well, and they don't think it spread so that's good news. But she is 75, so this is tough on her. Needless to say, I haven't been able to get the car completely ready to drop on the frame, so it might be more like late April or May before I can get it there. Hopefully before it gets too hot but I do have AC in the garage.

I am still wrenching when I can. I also discovered some body damage last night up front after removing the headlight assemblies. I want to repair this area before dropping the body back on the chassis, so unfortunately the amount of work required to prep the car has increased.

I hope this doesn't screw anyone up. Hopefully I can get a rain check? :thumbs

Thanks, Tom

Dawg had the tough experience with cancer.

Just to give you the up side, my Mom is a 25 yr survivor of breast cancer and two year survivor of cervical cancer. She's 80 this year.

Just know your family is in our thoughts and let us know when your ready to do the Vette project.

Thanks everyone. Yes, they are doing a lot better every year at this stuff. Both of my parents are living proof as they both had cancer 5 years ago and are doing well. I pray my mother in law does just as well.

Thanks again for all the kind words!!! Tom

My wife's mother is a 10 year survivor of one of the most aggresive forms of breast cancer. It's very treatable anymore. But we'll keep your family in our prayers. :angel

Hey Tom,

Really sorry to hear about your mother in law. We hope all turns out for the best.

Working on the car is definately second to family! With Melissa's dad now in town with his issues, our car and social life have also been put on the wayside......

I'm sure everyone would still like to check out the progress you made so if you feel like just having a show off day let us know.

Again, good luck and when ever you wanna do it, just let us know.

Andrew

Tom,

I also updated the thread in the events section so everyone is aware that this has been postponed. I will take it off the calendar until you let me know when would be a better time for you.

Again, good luck with everything,

Andrew
