Custom Seats on a C3

Well, I got rid of the ugly broken and worn out original seats and got me a set of cheap knock of racing seats (I'll get better seats later)

I put them on the car to see how they fit and the passenger's side fits waaay higher than the driver's side.

Is the passenger's floor a little higher than the driver's???

Also, I like sitting low (my head wont touch the t-tops anymore) but I like how the passenger's side looks a bit taller. so... any recomendations???

Im changing the interior's colo to black, and Im going to re upholster those seats with black leather, so dont worry about the color matching right now ;)

Not a C3 guy but wasn't the battery under the passenger seat? That may explain the height difference.

The battery is in the 'storage compartment' behind the driver's seat.

I've seen folks put C5 seats in C3s. THey fit, and from what I understand, are much more comfortable.

The 82 floor pan is different from side to side for a couple of reasons.

The catalytic converter is under the passenger seat, and the driver side was a power seat, so the floor pans are a different heights.

Your best bet to get the seats equal would be to mount the new seats you have on to the original sliders, if you remove them from the stock seats you can see the difference in them. There was one guy on the old CF that actually cut out the floor pans and modified them to sit way lower, he was 6'7" and after the mod, he was able to sit without bumping his head on the T Tops.

I swapped out the factory seats in the 82 we had, I installed Tanya's C5 seats, I just mounted the seat itself right onto the factory sliders and they came out the perfect ride height.

That looks nice, almos like factory!!!

I'll check if I can install the sliders on my new seats, hopefully that'll work.

Thanks for the help :)

I didn't play with the color settings of those pics, they didn't match the CE door panels, but they were close to the paint and carpet....

Keep up posted on how the install goes.
