torchredfrc
Anybody know of a good shop to take a C5 to for alignment and wheel balancing? I had a local place in New Mexico do the car and they did excellent work. Leaps and bounds above what Discount tire did to my alignment. I want to find a good local person with a Hunger GPS9700 to road force balance the wheels and get the alignment corrected. Thanks!Matt

They don't do alignment here in Phx That's weird, in New Mexico they do. I had it done there once and it was WAY off. You're probably better off that they don't do them in Phoenix. Looks like I'll have to ask around at work if no one on the forum has any suggestions. Maybe at the VAD meeting someone will be able to suggest a place. dewey
That would be a good thing to know, especially if they'll align to "Corvette Owner's Specs", not just minimum required.Like to VBP specs.
anmracing2
Actually, Discount Tire Co. doesn't do alignment at any of their locations in the U.S..... Discount Tire Centers in Cali does alignment though..... Must have been a different company with discount in their name.....Andrew
Eddie44
The Discount Tire in CA is definitely a different company than here in AZ. In CA the company known as Discount Tire here is America's Tire there. Not sure but it may be the same in NM.

Discount Tire Co. could not use Discount in Cali because Discount Tire Centers was already there. They are slowly going out of business and some of the America's Tire Co. stores have been able to change to the proper name. Also, America's Tire Co. stores do not do alignment either.Andrew
Guest cooljoe57
I'm not sure how every one feels about the steelership, but O'Rilley chevy here quoted me 90 dollars for 4 wheel alignment on the '80.
torchredfrc
I'm not sure how every one feels about the steelership, but O'Rilley chevy here quoted me 90 dollars for 4 wheel alignment on the '80.I called O'Rilley when I was C6 shopping... their "C6 Expert" was a real jerk and refused to honor MSRP or GMS pricing. We're talking this pricing on 07's they had on the lot. Needless to say, I went private party on my 06 C6.Anyway, I would prefer to not use the dealer but if that's all I have to go on....As for the alignment, you guys are right now that I think of it. I'm thinking of a place called Martin Tire. I did a lot with Discount but I don't believe they did my alignment. I know for sure though their balance job was never as good as the local place there. Their guys were not willing to spin the tire to balance w/o weights. It was a quick in, quick out style job.
Bluegoose
Took mine (2004) to a place called: Alignment, Brake and Suspension Specialists, located at 1121 N. Rook, phone (520)722-2276 ask for Mike. He will set it up anyway you want. Was not happy with the first alignment and he redid the whole thing on his nickel. Cost $150 and took 3-4 hours.
