Guest Kens06
What is so strange??What is the HP and TQ of a stock C6 against a stock C5Z??Get the picture...........If we aren't paying $20 a gallon for gas, the HP race will continue for upper performance level autos!!CO2 being classified as a hazardous emission may slow it down much like the switch to unleaded gas in the 70's.We will just have to wait it out!!Ken

Not sure if alcohol was involved here or not or you just wanted to slam me or what, but NO, I don't get the picture! You are comparing 400hp to 405hp on two different cars. But 505hp to 700hp on just one car (base vs Z0) is a BIG jump of almost 200hp, actually 195hp to be correct. Even if you were to compare the current C6 base and Z0 there isn't that much difference really. So unless there is some other math involved or another point you wished to make, It's strange to me. Guest Kens06
Tom,The way I read the premise of the article was that the base C7 in 2009-10 would have the engine that now powers the 2006-2008 Z06!! Thats 505 HP!!The blue demon Z0 whatever would be the mega HP/mega $$ beast to keep up with or surpass the Viper!!C7 is a generation number not a specific model or option designation like Z06!! Last gen topshelf becomes next gen stocker!!That was my point and if I misunderstood the article I'm sorry!!In my mind that is the way Chevy has always worked and I didn't see the big deal!!700+HP for the demon, ya that is great!! But like the lowly 505hp will never be in my driveway!!Oh, and it has been done before in the Corvette!! 1969 base 350 Vette vs L-88 option!!The article must have been written by a 12 yr old because when I went back to re-read it I even got lost in the rambling!!Ken
