Hawkeye
I'd like to know what kind of wax is prefered by the members here. I started to put Meguiars NXT on my new C-6, but I am not too happy with it. It seems to stay a little smeary even after letting it dry for 10 or 15 min. I used to use Blue Coral, then Blue Poly and was very happy with that, but can't get it any more. The Meguiars does not seem as slick as the Blue Coral did. After waxing with BC you could lay a rag on the car and the surface was so slick that the rag would just slide off------Not with the NXT. Who uses Zano Bros. wax----happy or not happy with it???Hawkeye

I've been using Meguairs Gold Class, but only because it's so readily available. I'm thinking of trying Adam's next...
Eddie44
I used Zaino when I first bought my C5 but it's not readily available and to me it seemed way to invovled with the mixing and all. I went to Meguiars and I am happy with that but recently bought some Adam's and I just haven't had a chance to try it yet. Theres a shop called Complete Garage at Scottsdale Rd and T-Bird that sells the Adam's products.
MOTV8
The Dawg was kind enough to write up an excellent paint care tutorial in this thread HERE, I personally like the NXT stuff, comes off really easy once it's dried to a haze, which is nice with 3 black rides. Try using a little less product, a little goes a long way....at least thats what UVETTYA's better half says!
Grayeagle
I used Adam's 'system' (scratch remover, restorer, wax) for a couple months .. it is easy on, easy off.. but it's also carnuba wax based (which means it doesn't last long, especially in the heat)Reading an meetin an talkin an watchin a detail day here .. Phil an Dawg turned me onto detail spray and Meguire's method of madness.NXT is polymer based .. last longer in the heat than Carnuba, almost as slick as an 'acrylic' shine .. the smears you see means you put too much wax on and dint buff it all off .. can hit that with detail spray and microfibre towel to buff em out fast. I have found on buffin off that it works best to use light detail spray on the buffing towel, and to spray light detail spray on the foam applicator pad when I am puttin the wax on ..it goes further for that 'thin coat' they talk about. As far as color density .. Meguire's makes a big deal about how their cars look black and other black cars look 'grey' ..but .. Adam's and Meguire's side by side result in the same shade of black on my car, you can't tell which side of the hood was done with what.In my humble opinion .. it's down to personal preference between the two. In the 'old' days .. before met ACE and Phil and Dawg .. I used 'Astro Shield' .. an acrylic coating ..rag slides off, can drive it and dust on the hood will blow off, .. neighbor cat left a deep scratch on a fender because he tried to jump up and slid right off the car ..I wish I had filmed *that* .. I was rollin Astro Shield is a thick, white, smear on, wait for it to dry (up to 4 hours)buff off, leaves white chalky residue and white dust.. but oh man it is *smooooth* ..and it lasts 6 months or so as heat doesn't bother it.It is acrylic based (ie: long polymer, what Meguire's is usin in NXT, just a different formula)-Frank (just my 2 copper and what I have learned to date)
Phill's Vette
I use Adam's products and have been very happy with them! Especially their detail spray. They are really nice people too!! I buy from them on line but Complet Garage in Scottdale should still sell it locally.

YumaZ06
Here are some pictures of the results I got from using Zaino.Showing off again Gary??? Must be some kind of "trick photography" (Just kidding). Looks great!!!!! I use Adams products and really like them, but on a silver car it doesn't do it justice as in darker colored cars. Their Buttery Wax is great (and smells like bananas, almost tempted to try it, ).I get mine on-line direct from Adams.

amblonde01
If you want a finish that is smoot as silk and sparkles like a new penny, try Inferno Polishes. We are introducing them to Arizona. They are used by the top detailer for Barrett-Jackson and most of the motorcycle shops in the valley. Arizona Thunder Motorcycles carries the products or you can let us know. We will be happy to put them to the test. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Give us a shout if you want a demo. We will be at the luncheon on June 2nd. Perhaps you can catch us then or if close to Goodyear we can meet and show what they do. Better yet, stop by our house and we will show you. Most of the street rodders in Tucson are using the product now and swear by it. lol just a mini commercial.
jstrutt
I prefer Zaino as it does a great job on black. The more coats the deeper (3d effect) it has. Dries fast if you use the Z2 Pro with the ZFX. I use the Z6 Gloss Enhancer spray between coats. It's a little pricy here in the north though. Mequires would my second choice. I have not had the chance to use Adams or the other products mentioned. A good coating of reduced whale blubber usually works well for me and I find it better then Trutle Wax as the blubber does not yellow. JMHO.
