Eddie44
I heard a news piece on channel 12 this morning. I understand this week has been officially proclaimed "Air Force Week". This is part of the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of our country's fine flying force. Being an Air Force brat myself (born in Omaha, NE at Offutt AFB) I would like to say THANKS to the many ACE Members who serve so proudly in our country's Air Force. I think he was head of SAC in the 50's but I was too young to know for sure.

Grayeagle
USAF ECM troop 1972-1986Dad was stationed at Offut for a few years until he retired there.7th an 8th grade for me way back when.'Peace is our Profession, War is just a Hobby'-grin-I remember one o' them british bombers failing a takeoff roll, goin down the hill, across the freeway, and exploding. All the crew got out fine before it blew itself to bits.I also remember that's the first place I saw a B-36 up close an personal, and a B-52 .. *HUGE* airplanes I was thinkin .. and the flight crews wore bright orange flight suits ..was introduced to the air show pilot who did an awesome routine in an F-106 Delta Dagger.. they were all polished up back then ..a very cool lookin peice of machinery in action.I did time in PACAF, short time in USAFE, TAC, SAC, .. bein an airplane nut I was 'on the line' most days ..spent most of my time on F-4's but did manage a year or more on B-52's, A-7's, F-105's, ..even a short stint on Firebee drones. -Frank an Kathy
