Been lookin at the orange peel feature suppied by the factory .. and .. hatin it.

So I wet sanded the worst panel (drivers side door) with 1500 till it was purty smooth, .. then got some rubbin compound and a pad (by hand to this point) .. then Meguiers Scratch X and a dual action polisher (no, not Porter Cable .. Craftsman ..$35 at yer local Sears) ..the shine is comin back now and .. orange peel is purty much gone :)

Takes a few days because .. well .. I'm slow and don't wanna dig too deep too fast :)

It's turnin into one of the best panels on the car .. figure a month or so to finish the whole car .. ima need sunglasses for sure!

Next up is a decent glaze I'm thinkin .. then Adam's polish over top.

Just because I enjoy how it looks when it's shiny :)

-Frank (yassir .. the detail day brought back a lotta memories .. I am so getting sucked into it again :)

You could knoeck it down with 1500 then move up to 2000.

I'd be careful with the ScratchX, that is for small area scratches, the grit is gonna continue to wear your already thin clearcoat. There are products (compounds and pads) designed for what you are doing.

Glad it's looking good for ya :thumbs
