Father's Day Cottonwood Cruise & Picnic - Saturday, June 11

Recommended Posts

ATTENTION: Route change through Prescott. See details below!

The 13th Anniversary of the annual Father's Day Cruise and Picnic is again scheduled for a wonderful drive to Cottonwood.

The route via Skull Valley worked well last year, so I've updated the route accordingly to bypass downtown Prescott square.

The last few years, several of us have driven around the corner from the park and grabbed a cold beer at THAT brewery.  :cheers
This is the weekend before Father's Day so everyone can still celebrate the holiday with family.

The picnic destination in Cottonwood's Garrison Park has plenty of picnic bench seating under a huge ramada, and additional shade trees for those that want a true blanket picnic.

You are required to bring your own sack lunch for a picnic.

  • There's one large sized ramada with 6 picnic tables, a nearby restroom, and a playground.

WHEN: Saturday, June 11th (Weekend before Father's Day)

Destination: Garrison Park, Cottonwood, AZ (Picnic spot)

Route: Google Maps Link (Also see below)

Who: ACE members post up in this thread if you can make it, I'll update the 1st post with the list.

Oh, absolutely!  :P

I suggest I-17 from Camp Verde back to your house, so you can enjoy an extra beer at the brewery before departure!  :cheers

That area is loaded with restaurants. Pretty much any kind of food you can imagine within 1 mile of your hotel. Get a list from the front desk.

Depends on what you're looking for, and how much you want to spend. Osteria Mia is an excellent Italian place, but higher price point. If you're early enough, The Stillery is a new western bar. Good food, and live music everyday. It's crazy busy though.

Many other options too.

Enjoy!

I've eaten at quite a few places in downtown, all good.  And a bonus if you like wine.
Look in this general area. All walking distances.

Its mostly corporate dining in that general area.  Mellow Mushroom, PF Changs you cant really go wrong. I would recommend Pita Jungle, local Phoenix chain, Mediterranean food; usually pretty solid.

If you go west on Happy Valley across the freeway about a mile, look for Humble Pie.  Gourmet pizza place, usually really solid as well
