Desertdawg
Quote hoping the dust will be minimal, you just left dustazona, I would think dust is the least of your worries.
Grape Ape
Well, I'd say you are correct. Dust isn't anywhere near as bad as Arizona. My car stays clean as long as I don't take it out of the driveway. 😯 😂 Got some bonding time with it today finally. Cleaned it up a bit and then changed the door struts. Might be the last time I do that, but we'll see about that when the time comes again. Then decided to snap some new pics of it. These are in my back yard.

Grape Ape
Believe me, I've been using a soft toothbrush in areas I've never cleaned before to get those suckers out.
Grape Ape
Drove it on my new awesome gravel road Sunday morning and went to a car show. My cousin called me and told me about it. Had a great time and it was a decent show too. I did find out that if I keep doing shows with this car, I will be cleaning it 3 times. 1st one will be the compete detail I usually do, 2nd one will be when I get to the show to get all that dust off and then the 3rd one will be when I get it back home in the garage again. Hope I don't burn myself out on this because I really like going to shows. Getting ready to head out. Plate will be changed in a couple weeks. Beautiful drive out from home heading to the sunrise. Almost ready.... Now it's ready. Breakfast...... Never a bad day when this happens too. I was surprised. Best in Corvette Modified class. No specific generation classes, all grouped into 1 class.
old yeller
The locals are probably griping about that guy from Tennessee coming over and stealing the best in show class.... Not a bad breakfast btw. 1

Grape Ape
Went to the county courthouse this morning and got Graoe tagged in Nebraska. No more Tennessee plates on it. Anyway, got a bit more depressed about the county roads too. Not sure that will ever change until I move again. I think it would be an injustice to the car and me if I keep driving it on these roads. So I'm probably going to park jt u til I can figure something out.

Grape Ape
I do realize it won't be good for it to sit much. I do also have to put it away for the winter very soon anyway. I never thought I'd be doing that, ever again. But it will give me time to think and come up with the remedy, maybe. Heck, I can't even keep the daily clean and that's driving me insane too. 🥴 That truck & trailer is an idea I'm debating too. I will need a better pickup if I'm going that route so maybe it's time for me to get a new pickup.

Grape Ape
I like that idea of the dust control. Be good for the driveway for sure. But putting it on the 3/4 mile long road would get expensive. That road is where I get pretty much all the dust from. I'm having lunch with my parents today and then when I get back home, I'll be looking for a new truck online and see what's available locally. Maybe I'll take a road trip and get one from Phoenix. TheCMSH
Any storage space available in town? Remember, whatever tow configuration you have, that will kick up dust onto the car (unless you cover it in transit of course). By the time you spend money on towing and transport rigs, you could likely rent space for a lot of months

The PHX dealers all wanted $5K+ over list in April for a minivan! ...... but times are changing and buyers are fewer so they maybe easier to deal with now.
Chameleon
Posting this for @Grape Ape. A pic to help put the issue of "dust" into perspective. Trust me, it could be worse. . . 1,440 miles of road grime, rain, and (gasp) several miles of driving on unpaved/sand road. Just turned over 121,000 miles this trip. Could not stand it, had to wash/detail before I even unpacked. 1
Grape Ape
Yeah, I don't have to deal with any of that long trip crud. Car is going into hibernation soon.
Grape Ape
Got a notice in my email yesterday that the new tags came in. Went to the couthouse and picked them up this morning. I kinda like them, better than the stock ones they supply anyway. He now has his name sake back again. I'm happy with them. The front one isn't going on until someone tells me to put it on. It will be in the garage until then.

Grape Ape
Yes, happy to have a name to it again. Housing is heading down? I may have to see about getting another one down there again if the winters are to much for me up here. Time will tell. Wife says she never wants to go back to the heat, but I've learned a long time ago to never say never.

Then you can be a "snow bird" and just lock & leave it when you go back home to Nebraska. If you go westside, we could be neighbors. . .
Grape Ape
1st time "ever" since I bought this car back in 2007, I'm having to put it away for the winter. Pretty sad but it needs to happen. Dug through some boxes and found the cover, also installed the tender to keep the battery as good as it can be.
