Anyone have rock auto brakes?

Ready to put new brakes on my C7 Z 51. I’m not a Johnny racer but want a decent stopping without having to mortgage the car. Any suggestions?

Carbotech makes good products, I’d specifically look at their 1521 line as it has good stopping power over stock, producing low dust and no noise, as well as being rotor friendly.

Ferodo also makes a very solid product above stock, but can be pricey.

I put the NAPA Adaptive One pads on mine.  I thought they were a great combination of performance and low dust, not mention you go to your local guy and just pick them up

Nice thing about local is you can take things back if they’re not exactly what you need, whereas shipping is a pain in the ass

Funny, I was just getting ready to post this same thread.
I need to do rotors and pads on my 08 Z51 package.
Was looking at the Powerstop Z23 package.
Other recommendations?

The Carbotech™ 1521™ is our high performance street compound. The 1521™ compound is known for its release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. 1521™ is also a very low dusting and low noise compound with an excellent initial bite. This compound's excellent linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Carbotech™ 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 800°F (426°C+). 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle or fleet vehicle. Carbotech™ 1521™ is NOT recommended for ANY track use.

I use Carbotech pads on the vette and put the Powerstop complete system on the truck last year. So far, I have no complaints with either brake system items. I used to use Hawk pads on the truck and vette, but switched them out because of the high dust on both vehicles.

I have DBA rotors and Hawk pads, they have been very good and long lasting. The pads are dusty as some have mentioned. I think Tirerack has the best price also.

Just wanted to update this thread with what I went with.
brakeperformance . com

Premium Cross Drilled & Slotted Brake Kit (#CBFR-62086;CBFR-62096)
Option: Ceramic Premium Pads (#PE-07310;07320) ($25.43)
Sets: Front & Rear (4 Wheel Brake Kit)
Color: Black
- 2008
- Z51 Package, Heavy Duty
Price: $485.45

Only, they didn’t have drilled and slotted for the Z51 package.
I received cross drilled rotors just like the factory set.
So far they are good, bedded in just fine, no dust yet, no noise,

and they try to detach your eyeballs when you mash them hard.
