Buccaneer
SUCCESS! Moving ever closer to getting full power. I have been fighting a cruise, slight light throttle hesitation and bucking. Almost like a DFCO issue, but it wasn't. Datalog showed that the TPS threshold vs TC lock-up was the guilty party. After a few more datalogs and adjustments, it finally seems to be like it should, nice and smooth going 50, 60 70mph cruise. What a PITA this issue was. I was chasing the wrong parameters because I was almost certain that the (DFCO) Decel Fuel Cut Off was causing the issue since it seemed like it was when I was letting off the gas. Also have a knk count issue at low map, low rpm (around 2000-2400rpm and 40ish MAP) which I'm almost convinced that it is false knk...almost. Once I get that figured out, I will start pouring the coals to it and she how it responds. February is approaching and want to get it to the track soon. Unfortunately, I also have a whole house flooring project starting Monday morning that will be taking up a lot of time. Ugh! One last thing...I renewed my registration and my plate. Used to say, EVILC3, now it will say 1EVILCF.

Buccaneer
Just a quick Thank You goes out to Lonnie for coming over and giving me a hand with my C3. It wasn't going bad until the "brand new DUI dizzy" out of the box was wired wrong inside the unit. (two wires were swapped) Who would have thought? Anyway, got it figured out and the car is running. Thanks again Lonnie!

Buccaneer
My plan is to go to the track soon if Wildhorse is even still scheduling T&T nights before they close. I will not be going to Tucson to blast it, way too far if I break. I still have a couple of small items to do before going to the track. The last one is an oil change, Lonnie said he doesn't do oil changes...Damn!

If the FND weren't just the TNT night for all the cars that were running on Saturday, I'd come out to play. The last time I lined up, was when RRB kissed the wall at Irwindale. I miss him more than racing.

It’s kind of wild comparatively. Tucson fnds usually just have club racers for the most part.
Buccaneer
I forgot about that and Lonnie did mention that hey were only doing 1/8 mile because of VHT issue not being able to get it or whatever. If 1/8 ,mile is all they do, then I'm out. I guess I will just do Draggy and see how it goes in northern Mexico.

Tucson fnds usually just have club racers for the most part. I guess I've been away so long, that I don't know what "club racers" are. What I remember at the Firebird/ WHP Friday night drags, was that every time there was a competitive race scheduled for Saturday, the place on Friday was like a zoo. Packed with wild animals like Cobras, Mustangs, Barracudas, Jaguars, Impalas, Vipers and more. Some had Mouse or Rat motors and an occasional Elephant motor. It became more of a TNT for the Saturday trailered race cars than a fun night for everyday street driven locals. What I see on the WHP website, is that every FND is followed on Saturday by a Summit Series race. i.e. their TNT night. When the tribe didn't renew the Firebird lease and attempted to run it themselves, they failed to understand the concept that the FND was the low cost draw for the average enthusiast who would bring in butts for the seats on the long term. When the County shut down Speedworld, WHP almost instantly jacked up prices beyond Joe Blow's budget and the street racing returned. Sorry for the rant. Sorry for the rant. oh I totally get the rant. the club racers are bracket racers. They don’t usually come to FND at wild horse because it’s full of just what you mentioned and full of street tires wrecking the tracks for slicks and drag radials. By 10, the track is very spinny. The excitement of FND and all the people there is for sure fun. There have been some really cool cars there lately. the Saturday/Sunday bracket racers are a more serious crowd comparatively. I seem to be one of the few bracket racers who also go to FND at wild horse but frustrated by 10 or so because too many people and the track going south. Buccaneer
Too many people at FND would be an understatement and it IS very frustrating. If you get there before they open and are lucky enough to be car #1-4 in the staging lanes, you should be able to get two quick passes in before the waiting game starts on a packed night. Then there's Johnny rice racer that blows a motor or diff etc and drives all the way down the track and now its closed for the next 1.5-2hrs for cleanup. Ugh! That IS the frustrating part and I have left early because I would have had to wait FOREVER just to get in a third or maybe a fourth pass for your $40 that they raised the price to, which BS! No competition. Just me and the track and what my car can do. Just gotta get there before it opens and pack it up when things get crazy.

Vette R & D
Don't know if anyone can help but this is where I am. On a 92 LT1 C4 with vin code P. I want to Disable the VATS system. It is currently a crank no run. I believe the injectors are not getting turned on. I got the car as a non-runner project. OKAY it a big project. Buccaneer
I don't know much about the later C4s, is the VATS the issue or are you asking? That is an Optispark year and problematic in itself. If the VATS is not causing the issue, look at the injector pulse from the dizzy to ECM/ECU as a possible issue. No pulse, no injectors worky. I hope this helps in some way. Buccaneer
Just another one of my mods that I'm doing this winter to get ready for the Jan/Feb air. Custom bored TBs that I'm doing for a total of 112mm. I should be done with these next week some time and get them on fairly soon along with a few more mods. It's never ending.
