aenigma
We’ve been driving 2 days now and will be in Virginia by 11pm for a total of 33 hours. Check in and truck/trailer lockup for the week is tomorrow morning. We saw a few other drag week participants driving our same route this morning. Everyone waved at eachother in passing much like c4-c6 Vette owners 😂 Im really excited about the week. It’s grueling but so fun. Only 1 speeding ticket and 1 warning so far (cameras don’t issue warnings but troopers do) 😃
SixAddict
Wish you and Lonnie the best of luck. We made that drive last year only to PA to move some belongings back to our older son. I forgot how much "fun" that is. I don't know how I never ran any body over driving a rig for 15 years........and that was before the distraction of cell phones. Speed Safe. HOXXOH
Wishing you the best of luck this year. I would have loved to do that, but following you on the forum is the next best thing. Stay safe, run quick, have fun, and send pics.

aenigma
Lonnie maintained 2nd in his class for street race small block naturally aspirated all week and ended up 2nd in the end. We didn’t plan a win so that was a total bonus. He ran his personal best in that car of 10.540. I’m proud of him! Awards ceremony is tonight. Lots of sweat, frizzy hair, broken shoes, getting soaked in the rain, eating dinner in vending machines, spark plug and lifter issues and more humid sweat all week. We didn’t get a toll pass so we blew through about 20 toll booths in the car so I’m going to figure out how to pay online quickly. Lonnie drag raced a semi for his lane on the freeway. I’ll post that video next. We made a bunch of new friends who we’ll be seeing every year here, and some we already knew from past drag week events. 1000 miles of backroads through 5 states in a drag car. If your hood is up in a parking lot or beside the road, other participants show up to ask if you need help. Great group. We had a blast!

German
Great pictures, thanks! The one by the lake with the cooling tower in the background looks like Port Clinton, Ohio, is it? I spent a good chunk of 15 summers there.

aenigma
Trying to follow the Drag Week map got us lost a couple times on a hot sweaty frustrating day. Lonnie has almost taken the wrong freeway and realized it at the last second. So he decided to drag race a semi. JohnU
I like the photo of Lonnie inside the engine compartment, feet up in the air, while he reconnects the A/C belt for YOU. 🤣

This was the spark plug issue. The AC was so nice and cold, most are jealous because they don’t have AC. It gets really hot in the cars.

Its so weird this year, they’ve posted hardly any pics, every day’s results didn’t appear until the next night, the final results still haven’t been posted. The links to the live feeds each day weren’t where they were supposed to be. I had to join a forum of drag week participants just to get information every day. I couldn't find much during drag week either, but your pics and prose more than made up for Hot Rod's failure. I'm happy your efforts paid off in great results this year. Have a safe trip back home.
aenigma
This was cool. Not many cars made it in the last day video. Our car got in there.
