Carol
The dash board read service fuel. the little engine lite is on It always gets stuck in P park, but I’ve learned through you tube to either get out with keys and re enter or go to Acc mode then start usually works 22,000 miles this morning I get in have to go through the routine of getting it out of park driving to my appointment- look down and see “no fuel” go to nearest station put in 12 gallons - fuel didn’t move off gauge. i tried to reverse and the vet would not go in gear- drove home- pull up emergency brake and left it in neutral???? any ideas what is wrong? theChad
Start with getting the codes read. That might lead to where the problem lies.
TheCMSH
Most electrical gremlins on these cars start with battery problems. Charge it and get it tested
HOXXOH
It sounds like the grommet on the shifter cable has finally broken. It's a $5 DIY fix or $$$ at a Chevy dealer. When the console top is removed, also check/adjust the distance to the micro-switch that operates the solenoid to release the shift lever from PARK. I agree about the battery charge/test for the likely unrelated fuel gauge problem.
az57chevy
Any perhaps some Techron in the tank will get your gauge fixed? What gas do you usually use?

What gas do you usually use? ^^^ Buy premium, top-quality gas (recommend Chevron) and put a bottle of Techron in the tank, repeat, repeat may solve the fuel guage issue. I had this same fuel guage issue, it took me 8 tanks of Chevron premium gas/8 bottles of Techron to resolve.
