Wow, I'm not worthy with mine being a '74 Mustang II. In a sort of sun beaten silver, no vinyl top left, V6. This is the closest picture I could find. The rear "FORD" letters were rearranged to spell "DORF". And at one time, the hood ornament was a drilled out billiards 8 ball until some bastard stole it !!

I just sold my first 'Vette. A '04 base as shown in my current signature.

Wow, this seems like such a fun topic to revive...c'mon everyone, what was your first car and first Corvette?

I don't have pictures for any of these (the photo albums are still in storage in Kansas City), but my first car, bought in the fall of '78 after I got my first "real" job out of college and could afford it, was a '40 Plymouth coupe -  green/black, 283 and Powerslide - just a cool hot rod for cruising Blue Ridge Blvd and elsewhere in the KC environs.

My first Corvette was a 1980, Frost Beige/Doeskin, L-48 and 4-speed, that I got in 1988.  I took it to the Bloomington Gold shows several times, and eventually was completely rebuilt front to rear with hotter cam and a Weiand/Holley combo, Hurst shifter, 3.73 gears, gas shocks and fiberglass spring.  I got real good at pulling the brakes off that thing!

My first car was a  Blue 73' Pontiac Catalina with a light blue vinyl Top that I bought in 1978 for $400. It had a 400 with a 2bbl carb. My first vette was a 2012 CE GS that I bought in Vegas in Oct 2011.

First Vette, total shit box. Driven in Michigan winters before I purchased it in the late 70’s.  I realized it’s cheaper to buy the best one vs a fixer upper.

1st car 1970 Ford Maverick with 170 CI dog of a motor. 3 on the tree then moved to the floor. We hooked the linkages up backwards by accident.... interesting car to drive.... I left it lake that. Was a buttescotch color at first but quickly put an "Earl Schieb" treatment to it to change it to black. This was a true 50 foot looker!

1970-ford-maverick-.jpg

Then the first Vette was our beloved and dearly missed Sunnie ... 2004 Millenium Yeller. Shortly after the purchase of Sunnie I became an Acehole and AINT been the same since!!1

Sorry I hadn't seen this thread before.

1st car was a 1967 Pontiac LeMans way back in 1978. 326 that smoked like crazy and needed attention, 3 on the floor, light blue with white interior. I was one of those kids that had their dad buy their 1st car. But there was a catch to it. He used MY MONEY for it. I really miss it too. It was a great learning car and my addiction to Pontiac started with it.

What it looked like when I first got it. These are the only pictures I have of it unfortunately.

Started some body work and the customizing bug started too.

My wifes 1st car was a 1968 Camaro, not sure when she got that. She misses that one a lot too. It went thru a few color changes before we were happy with it.

My/Our 1st Corvette didn't happen until later in life. In 2006 we bought our 1st one. 1995 triple black coupe. I changed the wheels on it pretty much as soon as I get it home.

My first car at age 16, was a blue 1950 Oldsmobile 4-dr sedan, kinda like this photo I snagged off the web. It ran, but not too well. After the first drive or two, my HS friend and I decided it needed a valve job and the carb rebuilt. We were working in his mother's garage on cold winter weekends in OH.  We pulled the heads and found a bad head gasket and confirmed the required valve job. Then I made the mistake of taking the carb home to do the rebuild in the warm basement. Looking back, I think it was the smell of the carb cleaner that caused my dad to come down to see what I was doing. After a rather short question and answer session about what, where, and whose car it was, a call was made to the local junkyard to come and pick up the car and parts. Among other valuable lessons I learned during and after the roughly 6 weeks of ownership, were the requirements to get a title, registration, license plates, insurance, where and how to buy a suitable running car, and especially not to hide the purchase from my parents.

I was 18 before I bought my second car. :ack

My first Corvette is shown in my profile below. It was properly purchased, licensed, and registered, without needing permission from my parents. :yesnod

74 Cutty Supreme.  This picture is pretty damn close, mine had the white interior.  Rocket 350, 4 bbl.  Dog off the line but the top end was kinda dumb considering the suspension and the tires of the time
