The last time took 20 minutes of futzing with it to get it out of park to get home. Did some searching and and found the cheap correct fix on the CF. It turns out a $1.79 micro switch developes a high resistance in park. Changed out the switch instead of the entire shift mechanism for a few hundred bucks from GM. Yeah, I waited for it to cool off before tearing out the console to get to it. (Special thanks to Jammye for help with more than just pointing) Tear it all apart It’s not here, look towards the front. Awww, there it is, swap it out and taadaa, just like new. BTW. roneva Posted October 12, 2018 Share Posted October 12, 2018 Thanks Desertdawg, but Bromleys already screwed me out of a $300/hour labor charge to fix mine. I'll never go back there! He fixes the problem by sniping the pin. You can also fix it by tying it up or by wiring around the solenoid.
