My pile of junk c7s and vettes in general

It continues!  I don’t know if I previously mentioned this, but GM paid me $10,000 awhile back this year. I still had the transmission issue.

Last week I took it to AutoNation in Mesa after speaking with them on the phone. They have given me top notch service from the time I walked in. They brought their transmission specialist up to talk with me, along with a couple other mechanics. They gave me a loaner - eek it’s awful. My advisor called me two days ago and said it took them a few days to diagnose but they can clearly see it’s not right. They are pulling the transmission next week. Finally a service department that is willing to deal with GM’s nonsense.

It seems like I’ll be able to keep my car after all.

I wouldn’t give 2 cents for service at Van’s or Chapman. I’ll be using AutoNation in Mesa exclusively from here on out.

Mo, Auto Nation Chevrolet in Mesa is where I bought my Camaro. I won't shop anyplace else. The purchase was awesome and their service department is the best in the valley as far as I'm concerned.  Anthony is my service advisor and he's great. I think if anyone can figure out the issue with your car, it's them. Good luck and keep us posted.

Mine is Thomas Muccili. I’ve never taken a car there before but you’re definitely right. They’re awesome. Big shout out to them and their customer service.

Bright lights on the horizon as we celebrate His birth, the birth of a new year, and happiness in the future for Lonnie, since Mo will be calm again.

Bought my 17 duramax from autonatiin on Bell out west. They treated me right and put up with me for over 3 months to get me in what I wanted for what I wanted to pay.

Ive had it serviced there and they took care of me just fine.

I picked up my car TONIGHT with a brand new transmission.  My saga finally ends!

25 days in a generic white car that can’t go fast and shuts off when the car stops was enough to last a lifetime. 😃

AWESOME!  Glad to hear you are back to driving a real car!  :burnout

I feel your pain on that temporary ride.  I had a rental like that.  The first day I wanted to set it on fire and push it off a cliff.  :lol

The rear end started whining on the way to Peoria yesterday.  I had to turn on music to drown it out. Here we go again.

Why can’t I afford a Lamborghini?  It would be so much better. 😂

I think I’m going to use my 77 for Vette functions or we’ll use Lonnies vette and I’ll buy something more reliable for my daily driver. I gave it a shot and it’s just not working out.

I was really hoping a thread basically dedicated entirely to your rear end would be way sexier than this has been

Ima sorry Mo, this just sucks to hear about again. I’ve heard of folks unhappy with their C7’s stepping back into the C6 world. Probably get a decent deal on a lower mileage 2013 Grand Sport

That’s actually a good idea (YOUR SECOND PARAGRAPH 😂😂😂).

I hadn’t thought of that option.  Possibly a c6 with an extended warranty because I’m a bit gun shy at this point.

Who's the best in town setting up a rear end?

Get'er done and move on!  I turned 40,000 and no issues with mine.

For the cost of a C7 you could pick up about a half dozen C4s and more than likely at least one of them would be in running condition on any given day.

The ole Vette went back in Thursday.  The transmission light went on last month and then off after a couple days. Wednesday back on and not coming off. I figured it was time since the new transmission was running so bad, since the rear end whines past 65 mph, since I had a napkin wadded up in the ceiling latch to keep it from rattling all the time and making me crazy, since the cup holder latch was broke, since the steering had a recall.

I’m starting to love the Malibu loaner drive and feel 😂

My service tech was adamant about no 2020 Vette purchase. He said they haven’t even figured out the wiring issue and that car is going to be a mechanical problem.

As I’m in his service bay with my nothing-but-problem.

Autonation in Mesa is awesome.

I started looking at other cars but once again, all coupes look alike which is why I have a vette.

Bad news for sure Mo, best of luck with repair.

Actually that Autonation is where I bought my vette in 2015. They were very easy to deal with.

I wonder if the C8 will have the bent /cracked wheel problems the wide body C7's are having, along with power steering recall, as reported on the corvette forum......

Again best of luck with your C7.:thumbs

Oh no. I had no idea about the wheel problems. I’m sure GM isn’t acknowledging it as usual.

I knew about the recall so I threw it in with my list since they had my car anyway.

The tech just called.

The whining is actually the AC compressor going out.

The motor mounts are bad.

The transmission harness wire is bad.

How does a motor mount go bad in 24k miles....

wtf.
