FNBADAZ06
Hello all !!! Been a while since I've posted up what's been going on with the Z lately. Race season is just around the corner for HPDE's, 1/2 mile and 1/4 mile races, etc. , so I've began a few projects and updates to prepare for my first events of the fall I had a few hardware failures at the beginning of the year which had me upgrading the clutch setup, torque tube and guibos, and the all to familiar cooling fan connector melting syndrome. I had CPR install a new McCleod RXT1200 dual disk with the aluminum flywheel option, and they also recommended and installed the Monster billet bearing support in the new Z06 slave. At a track rental back in March, I had a serious drive shaft failure where the guibo couplers disintegrated, destroying the slave and trashing the torque tube. I secured a low mileage replacement out of California and had CPR fortify the driveshaft with a LG solid billet aluminum coupler in the rear, and a new OEM rubber unit in the front. I had a torn axle boot on the passenger side, so I had CPR install a new updated stronger axle assembly as well (I had the driver side axle upgrade years ago at LPM). A few months later, I had the dreaded fan connector melt syndrome, which I repaired with new wiring and metri-pack 630 connectors. Otherwise, she's been running fine and I've racked up approximately 5K miles on her since the rebuild last October. The last few months I've been gathering parts again for the next round of mods to achieve a few performance goals I have..... a bottom 10.2X (or better) 1/4 mile time slip in full N/A configuration, a 165+ MPH standing start 1/2 mile run, and a certified 200 MPH certificate for the 1 mile and/or 1.5 mile events. I also want to get back into running a few ProAuto events, and run a few events with friends in SoCal and NorCal tracks. First up, I installed a Mighty Mouse "Wild" addition catch/breather can. I had requested Kelley at WFO during my rebuild to set my ring gap for nitrous use. With this looser ring gap, I expected to see a bit more crankcase pressure, so a catch can/breather was always in the cards. I had to drill a 1" hole in my passenger side Katech valve cover to accept the -10 AN fitting to allow the breather functionality, which had me a bit nervous. Additionally, during the install I discovered that my Katech tensioner pulley was within 1/64th of an inch from making contact with my throttle body connector, and the connector was behind the pulley !!! I pulled the serpentine belt off, had it measured (79", which was a bit shorter than an OEM belt), and went to a Gates belt measuring 80.125" in length. This allowed me to pull the tensioner further toward the passenger fender side, which gave the necessary relief off the connector. Before installing longer belt After installing longer belt Valve cover drilled, -10 AN installed, and system installed Oh, and this was installed for a future enhancement
FNBADAZ06
Picked up a new set of CCW C14's to replace the one I sold a few years ago Also scored a perfect set of OEM chrome spyders
FNBADAZ06
Future mods I already installed the Lingenfelter LNC-2000 for timing retard and 1 step launch control...which conveniently acts as a No-Lift-Shift as well I purchased, but have yet to install, the Lingenfelter NCC-002 Nitrous Controller and ash tray switch panel, which I'll do later when the full kit gets installed and wired. I think I'm going to use solid state 30 amp relays instead of the traditional relays to power the system. This is the Nitrous Outlet MSD intake kit and 102 throttle body plate system. FNBADAZ06
I'm also actively working on securing the purchase of another set of Weld RT-S 18x9.5 and 18x11 wheels with MT 305/35/18 26.7" drag radials. Hopefully the seller gets them shipped off to me this week
FNBADAZ06
The last details I'm working on is modifying my aero for the 1/2 mile event. The event last November I was running my 19" runflats and 315/35/17 Hoosier drag radial setup, which gave me a pitched up attitude at 150+ MPH...which did wonders for my aero and handling I need to limit my aero drag and get the nose down a bit lower than the rear. I may try for some LG coil overs, but I don't know if I have the cash to score them before October's NFZ event, so a shorter front tire and taller rear tire is probably going to be my best bet...staying within that 1.5" difference front to rear to satisfy my active handling settings. I'm going to be installing a new ZR1 splitter, but will be extending the lip and inch or so and installing a custom undertray to extend back to my engine cradle. I'm also purchasing ACE member Dale's extra carbon fiber extended version of the ZR1 rear spoiler. I may keep it off for the 1/2 mile event but the added downforce may be needed to counter act the extended ZR1 splitter when running road courses. I ran a best of 162.999 MPH standing start from the cones in the last NFZ, so I'm roughly 2 MPH off my goal of
FNBADAZ06
Then, the last "planned" mods will be the 3.90 rear gear for my Z06 housing (which is supposedly coming out in the fall), and shorter 5th gear (TR6060 MH3 ZR1 5th and maybe 6th, depending on how the 3.90's perform), and seats/harness bar. Drewstein
The little things are what make your car so damn good. Although 4 sets of wheels may be overkill haha. I love how that car is setup, can't wait to see your results!

FNBADAZ06
Well, my seller of the Weld RT-S's flaked out on me and I recently curbed my right rear wheel when I woman cut me off while texting on her phone I researched a few wheel manufactures and models, and decided to order up a set of Vertini RF1.2's in 19x10 and 20x12 sizes, finished in brushed titanium. I may have the red striping added to them as well when they arrive. Much lighter than my current black chromed wheels as well. Additionally, thanks to Dale ZR1Fast, I have a carbon fiber extended ZR1 rear spoiler as well

FNBADAZ06
The paint (really, the clear bra, as it covers 50% of the car) got some much needed love and attention with the orbital and some Meguiars Mirror Glaze Ultra-Cut 105, Ultra Finish Polish 205, then some Ultimate Wax. She shined up like a newly minted penny

Desertdawg
Funny, the day I picked mine up from Classic Gold with the wide body and new rims and tires. That was the first comment I made. It felt heave. The steering felt doggy and the ride just felt planted / heavy. It does make a difference, that's why I've kinda kept an eye out for a set of factory rims. FNBADAZ06
Replacing my T56 after 92K miles of service !!!! I started getting a whining noise from the rear of the car a few weekend's ago, and it's only making the sound while on the throttle. I'm gambling that it's the transmission, but I went ahead and drained and replaced the rear end gear oil and the transmission fluid when I changed the oil last weekend. The whining is still there, but it seems to have diminished to a degree, but it may be just my imagination or wishful thinking.. Coincidentally, a fully built TR6060 MH3 ZR1 transmission became available that had only 2K miles on it, which has the close ratio transmission gearing and the short .81 and.67 ratios for 5th and 6th gear. I was always planning to switch to this gearing for better acceleration in 5th and 6th for 1/2 and 1 mile events, and when the 3.90/4.10 rear gears become available later this year, that will give me the perfect (imho) gearing for my combo. The transmission is coming from Texas, and by some stroke of luck, my brother was in Texas visiting family so he's picking it up and bringing it home....so no additional shipping cost !!! I had the transmission inspected again, and had new seals installed in it after the dissasembly and inspection (trans was in a 1200+ RWHP ZR1 that went auto conversion). Planning on getting it installed next week so I can get a few break in miles on it prior to the NFZ 1/2 mile event on Sunday October 22nd. With my 7400 RPM rev limiter, 3.42 rear gear, 26.5" diameter street tires, and 2.29 1st gear in the MH3 trans, calculator says 74 MPH in 1st gear
