What are you doing with the 6??

Last block I got from you didn't fare too well. Not any fault of yours.

Cylinder wall cracked when it got sleeved, didn't find out till I start the motor last month.

That sucks.  Sorry man.

I haven't decided what to do with it.  There is an issue with low oil pressure when its fully warmed, so it will need to be gone through whatever happens to it.

This is the Thompson SB I bought to replace the SB you bought from me.

Thompson has offered to rebuild the motor to a 100% reconditioned state with new forged internals.   The problem is ...after this $$$  swap ... I haven't decided if I want to spend the additional $$$ to have it rebuilt .... just to have it sit in the garage for who knows how long.

BTW - the motor ran strong before we pulled it.   No smoke - Knocking or anything....just low oil pressure.

Let me think about it....

Thanks

I see the general IV knock sensors still on the motor. You have to put gen iii sensors on it and tap the block for them to work.

  • 3 weeks later...

BTW -

I have a few parts for sale ..

LS3 Throttle body (New)

LS6 Throttle body (Used)

LS1/LS6 Used Mantic Er2 Single disc clutch with resurfaced pressure plate (32k miles when replaced)

LS3 exhaust manifolds

LS6 exhaust manifold

LS6 Air intake

LS6 fuel rails

LS6 fuel injectors

LS3 oil pan with pick up tube

Practically new LS6 OEM Radiator - only had 4k miles on it when pulled.

I haven't priced the parts out yet so Admin if you need to remove this post - please do.

Hit me up if you are interested in anything listed.

Then there is the long block ....... - make me a serious offer.   Needs gone through to correct the low oil pressure issue when warm.

Thanks
