Need recomendation for mechanic - C6 cooling system

Some of you have been very helpful with my need to repair my C6 cooling system (my misguided cooling fan relay thread), thank-you Tom !!. Well, things have gone from bad to worse and I have decided to let someone in the business take over for me. This vehicle is much more complicated to service than any Harley I have owned. I know my limitations and accept them.

So, knowing I live in the North valley and cab rides back from South side of town are not cheap -

Which shop / repair facility do you both like and trust? Phone numbers and contact names and specifics if you have them, please?

Sincere thanks,

Chris

It is in Tempe but I would suggest Classic Gold or in Mesa try CPR both are members here.

Since we narrowed down the diagnostics on the phone a couple days ago, to either a bad ECM, a bad fan control, or a wiring short/open problem, leaving the car someplace is not required. Just setup an appointment to check the circuits and repair shorts/opens if necessary. If parts, as above, are necessary and need to be ordered, return at a later time to get them swapped.

Before you do anything, I'd suggest disconnecting the battery if you haven't already, to see if that could possibly reset anything that may have got out of whack when you first turned on the AC this year. Leave the cable off for at least 30 minutes to insure the system reserve is drained. You'll have to index the windows and redo other presets.

Because your car is not red, AZmotorhead near 83rd av/Pinnacle Peak might be available.

Hey guys thank-you :-). I don't really want to drive an overheating C6 to South Valley. I'll PM the 2 suggested people up this way and report back Tom, you are absolutely correct. My three neighbors and I are working on our shared well replacing two pumps and controllers so I need to prioritize and have an expert diagnose and fix the C6..

SOLVED by Parker - Many members here have been so very helpful in my quest to solve the overheat / fan problem with my 2011 GS. I now have an update to a cause and a successful resolution. Ted suggested I reach out to Parker and I am so very happy that I did. I was of the belief that I would be needing a new computer in the car but Parker found otherwise. It turns out that battery acid was the culprit. The original battery had leaked into the harness. The small green wire going to the fan control module was broken and 4 other wires were compromised. Parker diligently unwrapped the whole darn harness to find, neutralize and repair this mess. I am blown away by his tenacious desire to explore and solve my problem. He has got a customer for life here. I went to motorcycle mechanic school back in the early 70's so I have a concept as to what was involved but to see Parker find and fix this was a real treat.

I want to also thank Tom for all his help on the phone, Chad for his input when I was chasing my relay unicorn :-), my neighbor Rob for spending Sunday PM swapping out parts from his C6 to try and figure this out and my friend Ted Yoder.

Much respect and a deep appreciation for the ACE crew,

Chris

BOOM !!!! Mr. Two Snails is da man :thumbs

Parker doesn't have a brain. He has two ECU's.

And a classified CPU designed by Skynet.
