Bigfoot
The headers I'm getting are going to be 3" pipes. They will do the x-pipe down to fit the stock 2.5" if I want, but will run it 3" all the way if I get a 3" muffler set up. So, if I can find a 3" C6 muffler set up that fits my budget, I will go 3 inches all the way.
Guest badbobs95
I will go 3 inches all the way. 3 inches? That'll make her happy! You asked for that one.

Ted Y
All I know is I saw a baby blue Vette with tiny exhaust tips sitting in front of a school and thought how much teachers must be overpaid. *sarcasm*

HOXXOH
Although it's possible to put 3" pipes in there, the power result is less than 2.5" pipes.

Bigfoot
Thanks Ted, that explains it...but... I don't have the NPP now. There is no open/closed for me. Mine is just closed. I know the NPP was better than what's on mine now in some reading...for a few HP anyway. Question is...can I bolt in an NPP set and have it work? In other words...is mine plumbed for the vacuum/electrical needed?

In other words...is mine plumbed for the vacuum/electrical needed? You can bolt in the '08 NPP mufflers and 2.5" pipe, but not an '09 or newer to your present X-pipe. You could also cut off the pipes from your present mufflers and weld them to any year C6 Z06 or ZR1 mufflers. In either case, you will need to make or purchase a controller to open/close the flaps, since your car is neither wired nor plumbed for it currently. Without a method for control, the flaps stay in the open position. Thermal fluid dynamics is why you'd make more power reducing the pipe diameter from 3" to 2.5" in the general area toward the rear of the x-pipe. It's a function of heat and volume. You'll also want to make sure the people who will be making the x-pipe, understand you have an '08, unless you want to acquire '09-'13 NPP mufflers with the over-the-axle pipes. The angle of the passenger side pipe changed quite a bit between the '08's and '09's.

SpeedyChase
Are you still looking for 2009 Z06 OEM mufflers? I've got 'em and the x-pipe if you need that too.
