While she'll probably never use teh car anywhere near it's potential, good on her for buying what she wanted, and teh opinions of teh world can go stuff... as a healthy debate Shifty, would you say the same thing if it was a 16 year old driver? Senior Citizens account for more accidents than teenagers in the US. teenagers have more damage, deaths, and greater amount of Dollar damage done per accident. But when including "fender benders" old people have more. Life Pro Tip Parking next to the Handicapped Parking Space is the most dangerous place to park. Ted Y
You got that right. I stay far away from the handicapped spaces when I park. You know what else is dangerous? Drivers who take cell phone pictures while on the highway.
Shifty
I know it's rough, but if they obey teh rules of teh road, pay their taxes, and have insurance, are they not afforded teh same rights as you or me? What if they have done hard manual labor all of their lives, scrimped and saved to buy their dream car, only to find that most of life has passed them by? Other than entitlement or trust-fund kids, I don't see a lot of them driving a Zo, but if they have insurance and daddy/mommy will take care of whatever chit they have created, then why not? Final Effort
Might be she has a good financial planner. In 2000 my mother in law bought a new Seville. When my wife bought it from her last summer for 3k. I found the window sticker. My 2000 C5 vert and the Seville had a MSRP within $300 of each. The C5 held its value much much better. Therefore my answer to owning a Vette is it a much better value. Lol

Teenage drivers only exist from age 16 until they turn 20. Senior citizens start at age 50 or 55 or 65, depending on who determines a senior and lasts until they die. The sheer numbers make the comparison useless. I'd bet that drivers from age 20 to 65 have more accidents than those younger and older combined. Eddie44
This is just fatal accidents but I'd bet the numbers are close for fender benders. Lets look at the numbers. In 2008, 15- to 20-year-old drivers made up 8.5 percent of the U.S. population, yet accounted for 12 percent of occupant deaths among all ages in passenger vehicle (cars, pickups, SUVs, and vans). Per mile driven, teen drivers ages 16 to 19 are four times more likely than older drivers to crash. Drivers from 65 to 69 years old made up 3.7 percent of the population, but accounted for just 3.2 percent of all fatal crashes.
